The Symbolic Meaning of the Costumes seen in the Feminism Art

ABSTRACT
Background In Feminism art, costumes are a conceptual medium that best expresses identity of women. Artists have attempted to express diversely a wide range of life issues experienced by women. This study aims to categorize and analyze symbolic meanings expressed through costumes in feminism art.
Method First, literature review was conducted for theoretical discussions of feminism art. Based on this review, the works of art involving costumes in feminism art released since the 1960s were explored and analyzed through literature review and the Internet search.
Results There are some unique formal characteristics in Feminism art, which are distinguished from media forms generalized in conceptual art. Feminism art introduced feminine crafts such as sewing and quilting which used to be regarded inferior to pure art and embraced women’s body as elements of construction for works of art. The message that feminist artists meant to deliver through costumes can be categorized as suppression of women in the hierarchical marriage system, forced virginity and marriage as a means of sexual satisfaction, sexual instrumentalization and commercialization of females, psychological and physical violence and sexual exploitation of women, re-production related to biological reproduction or social activities, physical suppression of women to enforce an ideal body shape, diversification of femininity and recognition of cultural differences.
Conclusion Feminist artists have created another language or a new mode of expression to represent women by expressing a wide range of women's life issues through costumes. In such a context, costumes have fulfilled an important role in conceptualizing or symbolizing such things as marriage, bride, virginity, menstruation, womb, embryo, rape, dead women, commercialized women, diversification of femininity, class, cultural differences, etc.

Dailiness in Fashion - Focused on Normcore, Gorpcore, Menocore -

ABSTRACT
Background Recently dailiness has been studied as the base of creativity in many cultural researches. But in the fashion fields the researches on dailiness hardly have been done. This study explains from a perspective of dailiness, the common value penetrating normcore, gorpcore and menocore which have been emerged since 2015. Thereby it can contribute to predicting future trends related to dailiness.
Methods First, literary studies on the meaning, backgrounds, social phenomena related to dailiness were done. Second, both literary and empirical studies on the meaning, backgrounds, and fashion phenomena of normcore, gorpcore and menocore were done. Third, the value and formativeness of fashion’s dailiness were analyzed.
Result The values of dailiness that can be commonly found in normcore, gorpcore and menocore are ecological vision on human and creative actions through non-dailiness of dailiness. These values make people pursue the environmental friendly fashion so that natural fabrics, method of eco-friendly, vintage styles have emerged as trends. By transforming and mix-matching of daily clothes, people create new styles, which are examples of creative actions.
Conclusion Dailiness is the key element of composing society and is the object which have to be frankly expressed. The research on the formatives of dailiness will contribute to developing fashion design for the public in daily life.

Aesthetic Features of Park Choonmoo’s Fashion Design - Focused on the 2010 FW ~ 2017 SS collections

ABSTRACT
Background Recently, the record and research on the characteristics of Korean fashion is becoming important. The purpose of this study is to analyze the works of Korean fashion designer Park Choonmoo, who is actively engaged in international and domestic stage, to reveal her design aesthetic features.
Methods This study collected articles and reviews on Park Choonmoo and her fashion collection, using an internet search site. And study analyzed the design of collection from 2010 FW to 2017 SS in New York Fashion Week. Collection photographs were collected from various fashion media web sites and brand facebook. The collection theme, inspiration, formative characteristics, and images were analyzed.
Result The characteristics of Park’s design appeared as achromatic and monotone, harmony of structural line and irregular line, formative expression by mixture of material and material. Also images of minimalism, ambiguous sex expression, sportism, and expression of Korean aesthetics was appeared.
Conclusion Park Choonmoo has been based on avant-garde and modern design sensibility, and recently she is trying to introduce Korean sensibility. As a result of this study, the aesthetic characteristics of the design shown in Park's collection appeared as ‘contemporary avant-garde' and ‘Korean aesthetic avant-garde’.

A Study on the relation between visual perception and memory -Focusing on the suggestion and application of brand design memory model based on Gestalt’s law of visual perception -

ABSTRACT
Background This study is a study on the effect of visual information on human memory. It is expected that Gestalt visual laws, which explain the human's intrinsic cognition system in the more concise and clear recognition of complicated and difficult visual factors, are likely to be correlated with the symbol mark which simplifies complex visual elements.
Purpose It is designed through the test results to suggest the symbol mark’s visual perception memory model and applies it to the actual design in order to verify the utility of the memory model.
Result It was found that Gestalt’s law of visual perception was higher than non-law with respect to the remember rate and that it was higher in the long-term memory. In addition, it was found that symbol mark type applied with the principle of similarity was advantageous to the short-term memory while in the long term memory, the symbol mark type applied with the law of figure-ground relationship acts more advantageous. Based on this, the “BDMG process model” was developed and suggested and the symbol mark which was actually used was applied to the model of this study. The derived final option was used to verify the memory’s effect.
Conclusion It could be found out in this study that the visual perception information and the memory are related depending on the segmented characteristics and that the human’s perception tends to be easier and go longer when it is the total one rather than the partial one. In addition, this study has implication as it can be applied and used in the brand design.

A definition of recycling waste disposal environment from the viewpoint of user-oriented design

ABSTRACT
Background The purpose of this study was to find effective and effective collection and treatment methods in order to solve the recycling waste problem by investigation the process from discharge to treatment of recycling waste(treatment environment of recycling waste).
Methods The structured questionnaires were developed by reflecting the opinions of the experts and the literature. Data were gathered through in - depth interviews, and the collected data were analyzed using the content analysis method. The conclusions for the treatment of recycled wastes are presented using the frequency analysis of the resulting solutions.
Result Of the total 163 items, Improvement of civic consciousness was 47, Publicity and guidance 46, Improvement of collection system 48, Changes in government policy 14, and Investment in manpower and equipment 8, respectively. Improvement of civic consciousness, public and guidance, improvement of collection system are urgent, but changes in government policy and investment of manpower and equipment are also needed.
Conclusion These results are directly related to governments and local governments and can not be resolved without their efforts. As a result, how and how efficiently the government and local governments approach it is the key to problem solving.

The Effects of Core Self-Evaluation on Personal Image Making of the Middle Aged and Elderly Individuals

ABSTRACT
Background The purpose of this research is to investigate the difference of personal image making according to core self-evaluation and to identify the components of personal image making for self-image management of middle aged and elderly individuals.
Methods This study was conducted a survey for the middle aged and elderly individuals between 40 and 64 in Korea. The final 800 respondents were used for the analysis of results using SPSS 24.0 program. Result First, the sub-elements of Personal Image Making were classified as Mental, Physical, and Social Image Making. Mental Image Making was classified into Self-Inclination Management and Positive Thinking. Physical Image Making was divided into Fashion Management, Appearance Management, Body Shape Management, and Cosmetic Surgery Management. Social Image Making consists of Manner Management, Facial Expression Management and Speech. Second, the most original, self-rated personal characteristics among Self-Efficacy, Self-Esteem, Internal Control, and Neurosis in middle-aged people were found to be Self-Esteem.
Conclusion This research has academic significance through the establishment of the concept of personal image making and the development of the sub-factor scale. The results will help enterprises educate and train the middle aged and elderly individuals for developing human resource and contribute to the industries that need image making.

A Study on the Measures for Vitalizing the Indonesian Batik Industry - Focusing on Indonesian Fashion Designers -

ABSTRACT
Background As the functional fashion combined with the fast fashion that quickly produces/distributes by immediately reflecting the newest trend and technology gets popular, most of the textile fashion industry based on the tradition are on the decline. Contrary to the current market flow, however, the batik fashion industry of Indonesia is continuously growing. This study aims to suggest the vitalization measures in which Indonesian batik could continuously grow in the current textile fashion industry by maintaining its tradition as well.
Methods On top of considering the history and characteristics of Indonesian batik through literature, the cases of fashion area showing the greatest production and exports out of batik products are analyzed. Based on it, the diverse measures for vitalizing the batik industry are researched.
Result Indonesian batik is the handmade-dyeing technique using the resistance of wax and tools like copper. It shows the characteristics such as unique and culturally-compromising motifs and patterns containing the identity of Indonesia. The prosperous times of Indonesian batik industry were from the 1960s to the 1980s. During this period, Indonesian fashion designers focused on the expression of national identity by mostly using the batik. After that, in the period of decline, the batik industry was listed as an intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO, and faces the new prosperous times. Contrary to the elder fashion designers, the fashion designers of this times focused on modernly reinterpreting the motif of batik and also transforming the traditional costume of Indonesia to the modern costume.
Conclusion In this paper, the researcher studied how the batik has been produced in different perspectives of fashion area. In the results of analyzing the progress of batik industry, it was judged as having the possibility of continuous growth and market potential, so that the measures for vitalizing the batik industry were considered. For the vitalization of batik industry, the designers and companies should put efforts into the solution of raw materials depending on imports and the development of modern batik and global online platform suitable for customers' taste and needs. Also, the government and institutions should provide the material support and develop the solution program based on managerial skills.

A DIY Fashion Design Model on Play-Learning for Improving Children's Creativity - Focused on 2D and 3D design material -

ABSTRACT
Background Creativity is the result from the new and discovering procedure in an involved environment. Fashion design needs creativity as well as in art. Creativity is discovering procedure and finding new in work to enjoy of the life. In this view, DIY fashion design as a play-learning is easily crossed to children wearing the clothing which is daily items and friendly objects to them. The objective of this research is how to improve creative thinking and develop plentiful emotion for children with DIY fashion design play-learning.
Methods In this research, we has analyzed ten kinds of the fashion design materials for the study dealing with fashion design procedure in terms of body, fabric, pattern, prototype of fashion design as 2D or 3D practical work. So we have selected five 2D handbooks and five 3D videos in youtube as the fashion design study materials. 2D and 3D visual textbooks for play-learning which were analyzed with the IDEMA (Invention, Disposition, Expression, Memory, Action) in a acting procedure.
Result According to the result, it proves that 2D and 3D play-learning materials were used to effect of the improving creativity for children during the play with DIY fashion design. For instance, there are learning effect in Invention and Memory, playing effect in Action and Expression, and both learning playing effect in Disposition.
Conclusion This result has shown the DIY fashion design education has a ability and potentiality to improve as a play-learning a study material for play-learning.

ABSTRACT
Background Public label characters are a communication component related to the identity of the nation and the community by expanding the traditional role of conveying public information to the medium of letters. The visual identity of space expands the emotional cognitive range of the public through the semantic-morphological combination of information and text.
Methods From the viewpoint of history and cultural context, the public label character has been recognized as a component of the public visual environment, and verifies through multifaceted data and character-type that the development process is clear and is being used for public sector information. Result ClearviewHwy traffic sign character was developed for practical improvement of readability and information toxicity, and statistical and practical traffic information improvement result was obtained. London's Johnston typeface was developed as a typeface for the public transport environment and was a major case in which it played a decisive role in establishing public identity of service, environment and organization. DIN 1451 in Germany is a representative example of functional fonts developed as a standard element for industrial efficiency. Mandatory enforcement by statutes was a function of the industry standard of public label texts for national integration and post-war productivity improvement.
Conclusion The 'character' extends beyond the reason for the functional transmission of public / traffic information, and extends the scope of visual identity of each public unit as a cultural concept. From the viewpoint of the aesthetic and functional development direction of design in the letter, the public label character is a kind of 'socio-cultural and cultural phenomenon' which expresses and inherits the infrastructure of circulation and maintenance of the living environment of the public, Asset "and evaluate it.

A Comparative Study on the Public Service Advertisement of Korea and China

ABSTRACT
Background This study will analyze how public service advertisement strategies are different between Korea and China and the characteristics of public service advertisements in the two countries in order to explore creative strategies and message appealing methods internalized in public service advertisements. This researcher will also compare the frames of communication strategies between Korea and China and find out differences between the countries in order to suggest efficient approaches to the implementation of marketing strategies and advertisements for the products of Korea targeting the market in China.
Methods The subjects of analysis are total 12 TV public service advertisements dealing with ‘environmental protection’. Here, one of the qualitative study methods, text analysis, was employed. The items of analysis are largely classified into ‘rational appealing’ and ‘emotional appealing’, and emotional appealing is again subdivided into negative emotional appealing and positive emotional appealing before going through text analysis. This study has examined how message appealing methods are different between Korea and China.
Result According to the results of examining message appealing methods in Korea and China, among six Korean advertisements analyzed, four deal with ‘negative emotion’, and one is found to deal with ‘rational appealing’ and ‘positive emotion’ each. Among total six Chinese advertisements analyzed, five deal with ‘negative emotion’, and one is found to deal with ‘positive emotion’.
Conclusions Through comparative analysis on Korea and China’s public service advertisements, it has been found that emotional appealing is effective in public service advertisements intended to appeal to low-involved receivers not directly associated with them, which corresponds to the result of advanced research. The two countries’ cultural and political differences also have influenced the findings of this study. In order to execute advertisements efficiently, it is needed to carry out research constantly on advertisement strategies and message appealing methods.
