Background In the digital environment, startups utilize their brands as emotional communication tools, especially when financial performance data is limited. Fashion-tech startups construct their IR (Investor Relations) messages by fostering emotional interaction, building symbolic brand identity, and providing technology-driven user experiences to establish investor trust. Methods This study developed a 3×3 analytical framework combining strategic persuasion approaches (market signaling, tech-experience narrative, intangible asset evaluation) with brand value dimensions (functional, emotional, symbolic) and applied it to qualitative content analysis of four domestic fashion-tech startups (Musinsa, Zigzag, Ably, OddConcepts). Result The analysis shows that fashion-tech startups leverage brands as persuasive assets for building emotional trust, structuring IR strategies around either an emotion-driven narrative or a technology-based value persuasion. These strategies were classified into two types: “Emotional Immersion” and “Tech-Integrated Value.” Conclusion The findings highlight how brand-centered IR messages function as emotional design strategies, positioning branding as a strategic asset that fosters trust through emotional persuasion and symbolic identity beyond marketing.

Background As the long-term use of a mouse has become generalized in education sand practical sites for contemporary design, there have been growing concerns over physical fatigue and declined work efficiency. In the case of existing mouse design, its function and shape were a major focus, and there have been relatively few studies on ergonomic design improvements for addressing user experience (UX) and physiological responses. Therefore, this study aims at proposing the direction for an integrated design framework encompassing functionality, usability, shape, and expandability for mouse design. Methods In the first phase of the study, a survey was conducted with 91 graphic designers for evaluating user experience, satisfaction, and purchase intention in relation to mouse design and then, Multiple regression analysis and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were made to verify the correlation between design elements and behavioral responses. In the second phase of the study, the comparison between existing and improved mouse designs was made through postural load analysis (video analysis) and a comparative electromyography (EMG) assessment. It was to analyze differences between two designs in muscle load and postural stability. Result From the survey, it was possible to conclude that ergonomic design, click responsiveness, weight, and grip comfort have significant influences over user satisfaction, and purchase and usage intention. Especially, the sensitivity to wrist fatigue was shown to be high, and in the use of the improved mouse design, there were a decrease in muscle activity and an increase in postural stability. Conclusion This study suggests a mouse design guideline, developed upon the comprehensive analysis of user perception and bio-mechanical responses, aimed at reducing musculoskeletal strain while enhancing user satisfaction. The findings of this study are anticipated to contribute to the advancement and development of UX-based input device designs, and provide practical insights for developing user-friendly design strategies.

Background In order to derive basic data that can help creative thinking in design ideas for ‘romantic’, we examined the characteristics of associative words for romantic image words and associative words for romantic fashion. Methods This study conducted content analysis in parallel with statistical analysis. Frequency analysis was used to examine the characteristics of associative words for romantic image words and romantic fashion. The centrality and core keywords of each meaning were identified through word cloud technique, and the relationship between associative words was examined through correlation analysis. Result The associative words for romantic image words were highlighted by abstract and emotional words such as ‘love’, ‘pink’, ‘romance’, and ‘lover’, and ‘pink’ showed a relatively close correlation with other abstract associative words and emerged as the most core keyword expressing romanticism. The associative words for romantic fashion showed differences by type, and words expressing images such as ‘cute’, ‘gorgeous’, ‘elegant’, ‘feminine’, and ‘lovely’ were found to be central. Conclusion The association vocabulary for romantic image words was analyzed to have a direction focused on romanticism. The association vocabulary for romantic fashion was shown to be a mixture and mix of romantic and various images and styles, allowing us to examine the mixing and mixing trend of various art styles and images in 21st century fashion. The above study is meaningful in expanding the category of ideas required for design creation on romantic themes.

Background With the advancement of AI technology, the digital healthcare market is rapidly expanding, offering new possibilities. The elderly, with their high need for health management, are key beneficiaries of these services. To provide satisfying healthcare experiences, it is crucial to understand their health management behaviors and expectations. Accordingly, this study aimed to derive the user values of elderly individuals based on their health management behaviors for the development of future digital healthcare services. Methods To achieve the research objectives, a literature review was conducted to explore AI-based digital healthcare services and to examine the current status of digital healthcare services. In addition, related materials were reviewed to understand the elderly, who constitute the user group of this study. Subsequently, both literature research and user research were carried out to understand the health management behaviors of elderly users, serving as a foundation for collecting user value items. Finally, based on the collected items, survey questions were designed, a survey was conducted, and factor analysis was performed to derive the user values. Result The user values of the information-deprived elderly have been identified as five key factors: Expert/Other Connectivity, Management Regularity, Social Connectivity, Self-Regulation, and Self-Direction. Conclusion The user values derived in this study can be utilized in the design of future AI-based digital healthcare services. These findings are expected to contribute to providing a more satisfying healthcare experience for elderly users.

Background This study explores how tactile, hands-on Lego-building activities support emotional and cognitive reflection in students who lack confidence in traditional expressive forms such as writing, drawing, or graphic design. Methods Based on self-reflection and peer interviews conducted in a University, Culture and Design Management division, three key themes emerged: (1) Symbolism and Metaphorical Expression, (2) Clarification of Thought Through Spatialization, and (3) Accessibility and Creative Confidence. Result To broaden the educational implications of tactile methods, the findings are compared with an empathy-oriented prototyping toolkit developed by a professor of the Culture and Design Management division, alongside relevant studies on Lego-based learning. The findings suggest that tactile, hands-on activities like Lego building and the design toolkit can serve as effective alternatives to traditional expressive forms for emotional and cognitive reflection in education practices. Conclusion Through collaborative Lego buildings, multisensory and embodied elements reflects one’s emotional and cognitive expression. Overall, the results make a compelling case that incorporates tactile, hands-on constraint based building that is reflected as an educational tool for those who prefer a different way of expressing than the traditional ways.

Background In 21st-century design, where individuality, distinctiveness, and aesthetic excess are emphasized, maximalism has emerged as a significant visual culture trend in the formative arts. Defined by decorative richness and bold material fusion, it is characterized by four key elements ―exaggeration, ornamentation, hybridity, and unstructured form―which align with the experimental materiality of contemporary ceramic jewelry. This study examines how these elements manifest in ceramic jewelry and analyzes their aesthetic and design potential. Methods Through theoretical research and literature analysis, the conceptual and formal foundations of maximalism were examined. This was followed by an analysis of the material properties and fusion techniques in ceramic jewelry. Case studies of selected artists and brands were then classified according to the four identified characteristics, with attention to their formal language and expressive strategies. Result Contemporary ceramic jewelry reflects the formal characteristics of maximalism through exaggerated forms, intricate handcrafted ornamentation, the fusion of heterogeneous materials, and deconstructed structures, thereby achieving expressive diversity and originality. In particular, the compositional integration of materials such as ceramics, metal, gemstones, pearls, and textiles contributes not only to the aesthetic completeness of the jewelry, but also enhances its wearability and structural stability. Conclusion This study demonstrates that the formal aesthetics of maximalism serve as a valuable design strategy in ceramic jewelry, supporting both artistic identity and commercial viability. By applying this approach, ceramic jewelry can evolve from a niche craft practice into a broader design field that merges artistry, technical innovation, and market potential. This research suggests a pathway for expanding the identity of ceramic jewelry and contributes to its future growth within the contemporary craft and design industry.

Background This study provides an in-depth examination of the impact of emotional design strategies in premium cosmetic brand advent calendar packaging on consumer experience, utilizing Donald Norman’s emotional design framework and emotional keyword coding analysis. Methods Sixty-three unboxing review videos featuring Chanel, Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent, uploaded to YouTube between 2021 and 2024, were collected and transcribed. Emotional keywords were extracted and analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively across visceral, behavioral, and reflective stages to identify brand-specific differences. Result The analysis revealed that all three brands strongly elicited visceral emotional responses through visual beauty and symbolism. However, distinct differences emerged in the behavioral and reflective experiences, such as the practicality, convenience, and reusability of the unboxing process, resulting in varying positive and negative consumer evaluations by brand. While Chanel frequently induced negative experiences at the behavioral and reflective levels, Dior and Yves Saint Laurent accumulated positive experiences, leading to higher brand loyalty and repurchase intentions. Conclusion By offering empirical insights based on unboxing content, this research provides foundational data for developing premium packaging design strategies and advancing user-centered design studies.

Background Rapidly evolving artificial intelligence is changing the paradigm of the entire fashion industry, and even an artificial intelligence fashion week is taking place. This study aims to analyze the works presented at New York AIFW, the world’s first AI Fashion Week, to understand their overall characteristics and explore the creative potential and effective utilization of AI from a fashion design perspective. Methods First, a literature review was conducted on the trends of AI Fashion Week in contemporary fashion and the overall overview of New York AIFW. Second, the case study examined the formal characteristics of the New York AIFW works and the design characteristics of the award-winning works. Third, based on the analysis results, the study discussed the Internal value of AIFW, strategies for its efficient application, and areas for improvement. Result Unlike traditional fashion shows, AIFW is innovative in that AI plays a central role in the design process and the creation of fashion collections. Although each designer developed a collection based on a unique theme and concept, the works shared several expressive features, including experimental forms, futuristic aesthetics, an emphasis on digital textures, and visually striking expressions achieved through the fusion of technology and art. AIFW functioned not only as a fashion week that incorporated AI technologies, but also as a platform where AI and human creativity intersected. It reflected values such as the expansion and democratization of creative fashion expression, the realization of sustainable fashion, and the role of fashion as a laboratory for the future. Conclusion Based on the findings, the study anticipates an increasing impact of AI in fashion and the continued expansion of AIFW as a future-oriented platform. We look forward to future AIFWs that go beyond the creation of creative fashion imagery to embrace actual production possibilities and more profound engagement with diverse cultural insights.

Background This study begins with the recognition that Generation Z places great importance on artistic and unique designs, particularly the color design of Art Nouveau-style IP cosmetics, which significantly influences emotional responses and purchase intentions. Based on Graves' theory of color composition, this research aims to identify how color perception affects emotional preferences and behavioral intentions among Generation Z consumers. Methods AThis study applies Graves' principles of color composition unity as perceptual variables. An online survey was conducted among Generation Z female consumers residing in Korea. The collected data were analyzed using regression analysis via SPSS. Result Color composition perception effectively stimulates consumers' emotional responses. Furthermore, emotional responses have significant positive effects on purchase intention, IP preference, and brand association. The unity and rhythmic qualities of color design, in particular, were identified as major factors enhancing emotional resonance and behavioral intention. Conclusion This study reinterprets Graves’ color theory from a consumer perspective, demonstrating that visual design significantly influences consumer emotion and behavior. These findings provide practical implications for color design and emotional marketing strategies for IP cosmetics.

Background As society ages, healthcare technologies for older adults are becoming essential. Smart fitness mirrors offer real-time feedback but lack UX designs suited to their cognitive and sensory needs. This study compares traditional assistive devices and smart mirrors, evaluating older adults’ responses to different feedback types via video-based experiences. Methods A total of 124 adults aged 75 to 84 participated. They experienced four feedback conditions (none, visual, auditory, multimodal) through video, followed by a UX survey. Cognitive and emotional responses were measured on a 5-point Likert scale. ANOVA and Dunnett T3 tests assessed differences across conditions, and Pearson correlation analyzed response relationships. Result Multimodal feedback showed the highest scores on all UX measures, significantly outperforming other conditions (p < .001). Gender, age, and smart device use frequency showed no significant effects, while exercise frequency influenced cognitive responses. Strong correlations were found between cognitive and emotional responses, especially between memory ease and receptivity. Conclusion Feedback modality significantly affected older adults’ UX, with multimodal feedback improving both error recognition and engagement. Sensory-integrated feedback is key to effective UX design for older adult users.
