JEWNR 72(0) 171-186, 2021 |
ABSTRACT
Background When developing services for the vulnerable people, it is difficult for users to participate due to physical and mental limitations, so it tends to be provider-oriented. Therefore, this study tried to find out the factors that promote participation in co-design for the physically and cognitively vulnerable people, and to find ways to participate.
Methods Based on previous research, the co-design process and tools were developed, applied to the workshop, and the research results were derived through field observation and analysis.
Result In order to promote participants' participation in co-design, which the researcher did not consider, it is necessary to minimize the use of tools that require inter-participant evaluation activities, opinions synthesis and coordination activities, and participants' thinking. It is necessary to construct concrete examples of facilitators for participant responses, use of specific and explicit words, and simple principles and behavioral tools.
Conclusion In terms of design tools that promote participation in co-design for the physically and cognitively vulnerable, based on 'ease of use' and 'simplification', 'a tool to reflect vulnerability through a participant's preliminary survey,' 'a tool to reflect participant needs', and 'specific explicit 'Use of words' should be considered, and if intervention of a facilitator is not easy, an 'alternative tool' that does not require special competence or coordination of opinions is needed. From the operational aspect, ‘anonymity’, ‘exclusion of evaluation activities between participants’, and ‘description of specific examples of facilitators’ should be considered. In addition, a method should be planned and applied so that the authority of participants in co-design can be maintained through these facilitating factors.

|
이운형 Lee Woon-hyung |
JEWNR 72(0) 187-196, 2021 |
ABSTRACT
Background The purpose of this study started from the fact that students were particularly dissatisfied with the practical classes in the arts and physical education field in most online classes conducted after the outbreak of the covid-19 crisis. This is a common problem in almost all universities, and it shows that professors who have been teaching in the traditional way are having difficulties in the process of changing face-to-face practical classes to online practical classes due to the characteristics of face-to-face practical classes. To solve this problem, in this study, an online class method in the form of a personal project is attempted and the results are presented with the goal of allowing students to experience the same or higher level of practical education than the face-to-face class.
Methods In order to solve various problems that occur in the non-contact design practical education process, firstly, interaction-based online teaching and learning strategies will be derived. In addition, by applying the derived strategy to an online class in the form of a personal design project, the interactive teaching and learning strategies and the effectiveness of this teaching method are verified through a customized survey for students taking the relevant practical class at the end of the semester.
Result As a result of applying the online interaction strategy derived from the preceding theoretical study to the actual class and conducting it for one semester, it was found that the overall satisfaction of the students was quite high. In addition, it was found that sufficiently meaningful results were obtained in terms of student participation, including attendance rate and assignment submission, and the degree of completion compared to the learning outcomes in the previous year's face-to-face class.
Conclusion In the process of non-contact design practice classes applying the interaction-based online teaching and learning strategies presented in this study, students were able to quickly adapt to the non-contact classes without any hesitation through a learning process similar to the traditional face-to-face design practice classes. It was confirmed that it is possible to efficiently and effectively increase the satisfaction of learners in online design practice classes through repeated learning of basic theories and the parallel use of various online media.

|
방미영 Mee-young Bang , 홍동식 Dong-sik Hong |
JEWNR 72(0) 197-206, 2021 |
ABSTRACT
Background Static images in AR-based Picture Books reproduce virtual images through digital devices such as Mobile Phones and Tablet PCs, conveying realistic sensations. This is all due to human infinite desire to perceive through virtual reproduced images without real objects and feel the same sense as real life. Therefore, this work aims to establish a new concept for the sensory domain of the upper structure responsible for image reproduction when the Picture Book of the plane is extended into time and space and the sensory domain of the lower structure related to human emotional psychology.
Methods Through theoretical consideration, we examine the concepts of Picture Books and their senses and perceptions and concepts of Augmented Reality as a whole, and identify the dual structure of senses and perceptions. Next, based on theoretical consideration, we establish the concept of two components of Multi-Sensory: Real Sensory, RS and Imitation Sensory, IS, and derive Multi-Sensory analytical frames. Through the analytical frame, I analyze the examples of AR Picture Books, validate them on Multi-Sensory elements, and draw conclusions.
Result First, I newly perceived Picture Books extended into time and space and redefined the concept of AR Picture Books. Next, an aspect that should be directed in Picture Books extended into space-time was that the caustic sense responsible for information about Images is immersed through Visual and Auditory expansion. However, the tactile information perceived through digital sensing experienced deficiencies because it was not directly felt by the skin.
Conclusion Therefore, I conclude that authenticity should be expressed together in pursuit of complementing emotional aspects such as Sense of Reality, Interaction, and Satisfaction through the physical nature of Paper Books.

ABSTRACT
Background The growth of untact services in preparation for the new normal era is continuing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, as consumers prefer non-face-to-face, consumption of untact products is increasing, but concepts and attributes for the products vary in scope, so that it is urgently needed to come up with a development strategy for creating more effective products in the future by identifying the attributes based on concrete rules for the products. So, this study aimed to not only establish and understand the concept of untact products, but also suggest implications for the development strategy of the products based on the concept through a study on the interaction between products and users in the untact era.
Methods First, this study has established guidelines for untact product classification based on the product usability stage out of the user-product interaction stages through literature research. Second, centering on the derived guidelines, it has analyzed contact substitutes as well as the features found through a case study of untact products before and after the COVID-19 outbreak. Third, it has presented a development strategy for each product group clearly identified through the case study.
Result untact products are classified into three types: products for direct and indirect use and substitute products for the implementation of unmanned services; most of the products for direct use are the ones that prepare for the spread of the virus after COVID-19 with the most intuitive usability, which have limitations with respect to various applications, so that they need to be continuously observed and studied; the products for indirect use and unmanned services, which combine technology and product, have limitations of complicated usability. Therefore, it has suggested the need for a pre-simulation stage to identify the most convenient intuitive experience, the need for building the intuitive experience customized for a variety of occupation and age groups, etc. as development strategies for untact products being expanded after the COVID-19 outbreak and moreover, it has presented searching for ideas to increase productivity and maximize benefits through the advancement of automation technology to achieve convenience in the use of technology, to reduce costs through governance minimization, and lastly to produce the most simplified drawings to overcome the technical complexity as development strategies for the untact products expanded before the outbreak of COVID-19.
Conclusion With the expectation that the untact industry will develop further as the COVID-19 continues for a long time, it is meaningful in that it has presented development strategies according to specific standards and classifications by identifying the current trend of untact products and by deriving concepts and classifications for the products and identifying their attributes through an analysis on the interaction between products and users.
