A Study on the Effects of Visual Communication of Web - based Typography

ABSTRACT
The rapid development of computers and the popularization of the Internet have brought a revolution in information distribution, and along with the emerging of computers as new information media, the web is becoming a new means of communication. In the age of watching rather than reading, the World Wide Web, which is more cost effective than any other media, has established itself as an important publication medium in a short time, and is providing new opportunities for communication. However, the early web developers, who were interested in the structure of information, concentrated on the logicality of document organization for network users, and disregarded the visual aspect of information delivery, and as a result, the web had many limitations as a means of communication. Websites are organic combinations of various components. Though various technical aspects such as planning, design, repair and maintenance should be considered according to the purpose of websites, there is also much ongoing research on the objects of interfaces. The most efficient and clear means to deliver information are letters and pictures. The communication of information on the Internet is carried out with pictures, texts, and recently added multimedia factors. Using letters, which is exclusively owned by human beings, mankind has shared and delivered huge amounts of knowledge from generation to generation. In addition, studies on texts to be used for clear communication have been going on under the name of typography. In selecting letters, the new environments require typography as an extended formative language that visualizes and exchanges the systematic combination and operation of communication through symbols, rather than previous typography that was focused only on legibility and harmony of character types and designs. Therefore, the present thesis aims at analyzing the background of web based typographies through reviewing the literature and previous research, comparing them in terms of visual modeling principles and visualization methods, and studying about the methods of visual communication fit for the web.

A Study on the Cosmetic Package Design Considering Expression Technique and Texture

ABSTRACT
It is reasonable that a package may begin with the human`s fist economy activity simultaneously. From the field of barter in the early days from the field of mass distribution in the modern, the package may be essential elements of the whole course from production to sales. And the package broke from original meanings like preservation of products with the change of era, and it comes to develop as modern meanings that the sales promotion function takes precedence. In particular, the cosmetic package is one of representative field in the package fields that the sales promotion function takes precedence over the products protection function from the beginning. The function of the primary products protection in the technical civilization developed highly recently was not regarded as difficult problems much. It is a state that the role of sales promotion and the brand image strategy of products, the secondary function, is required more in the package design. In fact, as examining the analysis of purchase motivation of cosmetics and the contents of consumer behavior research, as for the new purchase of cosmetics, it showed that above 85%of consumers have decided their minds for purchase by the products image presented through the package. At least, the development of new products in the cosmetics may consider it as "new package method and the development of materials". The change of this concept may always ask the package designer in charge of development work on the front line endless research and efforts about the new package method and the development of materials. The domestic cosmetics markets become various in consumption pattern day by day by high economic growth and liberalization of imports. Especially, the cosmetics corporations concentrated on the development of general cosmetics have development the products by the consumer`s class and by characteristics of products. But the high price band of cosmetics comes to produce by effect on the consumer`s preference to overseas famous band and the excessive consumption. And there was an era that the excessive package existed between the cosmetics bands competitively for the development of high-price of products. The market of foundation cosmetics with fierce competition everyday have made a plan for products development by the change of sales competition, the change of purchase pattern and the subdivision of products difficult. In particular, there arose large change in the structure of distribution. And the sales method by the consumer`s direct purchase like sales corner and chain stores, etc. becomes a main stream from the existing visiting sales method. Recently, it is a state that the impulse purchasing becomes weigh in the point of purchase more. This study is to recognize these realities again and to analyze the quality of cosmetics package in general. Also, it is to grope for the quality of new package and the development of after-processing method as direction to the development. This study is to examine the history of change in the domestic cosmetics package and the present state about the quality of cosmetics package, etc. through general investigation of cosmetics package for enhancing the brand image in the cosmetics package design and for studying the quality of new package and the after-processing method that can make it differentiate. Also, it is to study the method for development for solving it by the expression of problems on the domestic cosmetics package through the analysis of cosmetics on the aspect of package design.

ABSTRACT
Rules on typography have changed and visual messages tried diversely could amplify further communication, the ultimate function of linguistic messages. In addition, rapid development and spread of computer brought about revolution of information flow and computer has been highlighted as a new means to communicate Typography communication, Fusion Digital media of playing a role of the passage came up to us However, since topography properties of Fusion Digital media are mostly designed on the basis of English font, it is not proper to apply the properties to the Korean Website. A new paradigm is in order for contemporary fusion Digital typography. Now we are in a transitional period. Blindly embracing fleeting trends is negating an opportunity to creat a new paradigm. Typography expression also manifests creative and different forms by means of continuous experimenting and testing, considering the rapidly changing times and society in accordance with the people`s constantly changing mode of thought.

ABSTRACT
The Use of Digital moving picture are rapidly incresing, becuse of improving metimedia-computer technology and development network communication technique. The charateristics of the digital moving picture are the relationship to User. The User are not an audience in digital moving picture but a participants. So the design method that makes user a paticipants. The efficiency of communication can be improved by such paticipation. The area of Digital image processing were surveyed. Then the paticipative style of the user in using digital moving picture are analized. This study identify the interacivity in using digital moving picture and find the elements that make user interact in digital moving picture. Finally, this study suggest the interaction design guidline based on the user interaction in using and processing the digital moving picture.

This was been connected soon by sale enlargement of internet portal shopping mall site. Interest for internet portal shopping mall site is risen so much. It is that necessity of WI`s application in internet portal shopping mall site is risen hereupon. Color that caught CMYK by standard in CI in Color application in case of internet portal shopping mall which is operated present is meaning conversion RGB. When apply Color in website, magnify so and is applying. When wish to apply Color in website, there is necessity that convergence remembers to drop if apply Color more than 4. And must form image and Text`s harmony. In the case of domestic internet portal shopping mall site, is real condition that is doing more attaching weights in product image. Must heighten composition frequency of Sub Navigation text search information that internet users want easily little more. Corporations which wish to construct website applying internet portal shopping mall site to WI see that communication believability between corporation and individual through internet shopping be short of internet portal shopping mall site to consumers how much awareness as brand gives believability along with systematized Identity`s comprehension still more.

ABSTRACT
Tradition as social and cultural customary way of thinking or behaving that has been passed down in this way and continuously followed for a long time and a statement expressing our beliefs about what will happen in future. And it is an uninterrupted connection with the passed and a prediction and something new that we can look for. As a result, the expression meaning of the tradition from each country is the base of creative self-expression and, simultaneously, a work creating newformations. The traditional expression is all `formative-art must it a principle to understand the tradition from each region and country and introduce to this field the contemporary senses in accord with demand of social condition and situation. This study, therefore, is trying to observe, and analyze the development and its stages of patterns expressed in building, environmental graphics, street furnitures through the contemporary application to tradition. This study, first, will analyze types and cases of patterns as a theocratical background, what we noticed is an earth vessel of Gaya and Shilla and this is investigation wall, ceilings, floor, and railings sequently. Therefore, This study try to apply the images and formative elements from traditional pattern to the environmental graphic and street furnitures. And as a condition, this study comes to an end by pointing out the connection with traditional elements and its vision and improvements.

ABSTRACT
Photography invented in 1839 by Daguerre, a Frenchman, started from the conception of subject`s reappearance and search for photography as an expression medium has changed the sight and ideas of a human. It is a photogram by dadaists in the 1920`s that meets an epoch-making revolution through the participation of photography as a new medium of graphic, but montage works which consist of time and space for two mentions became an important means of expression. Expecially, it can be called that Herbert Matter`s works using visual codes of photography in which a bold composition of a picture and formative psychology are used carved out a new career of poster photography. Design is the study of feeling abd art to approach a homan`s mind and designers should create in using many various materials at the base of their own visual ideas. Photography and a graphic design are not works interpreted dually in the relation between a graphic design and photography, but they should be recognized as a visual image.

ABSTRACT
The studies for advertisement in modern society have been carried out in the consideration of various circumstances. They have been done as a part of processes for message communications that one firm pursues his own profits, and the communication messages for their conducting the pursuit of profits has been formed in various kinds. One of the message forms also leads the communications on public advertisement message in the intention to enhance the participation rate of producers themselves. It may make them to consider that the rise of participation and favorate degree can elevate the reliance`s degree of messages. In the view of these purposes, we can figure out the differences between the forms of messages intended by the group or government and the conception of messages by the profit collectives. However, the issue just like public advertisement message looks like having the identification of essential message communications, and it pursues the solution for the social and cultural matters. Sometimes, the message communications being risen as public issue in these days were the matters to unique people, or they became the interesting materials to the public at last as changed as the life style or the population statistic characters, and there is a lot of cases that the matter is getting worse and more serious through raising the social problems. Social and cultural issue asks for consumers` demand on the advertisement. The message created by the value of significant theoretical conception and cultural and social theory through advertisement message makes us feel the necessity for understanding the communication approach in social and cultural viewpoints. In this thesis, I would like to study and understand the advertisement communications through approaching to this kind of above views.

ABSTRACT
The magazine, a medium to share information and interests with common readers, has been transformed into varied visual appliances complying with the trends of design history, caused from its dependence upon visual sense. And the transition from analog to digital, an extraordinary technology, in publishing methods accelerated the progress of editing design and gave birth to a visual innovation. A new terminological category like DTP-Desk Top Publishing provided an access for anybody to design and publish books, brochures, pamphlets with the help of computer sets and editing programs. The appearances of varied-formed magazines in digital times refer to the variousness in Graphic Design. In pursuit of new visual aspects in comtemporary editing design and typography, magazines shaping in various styles are being published all over the world as well as in Korean, targeting some particular reader groups though. In spite of the attractiveness, the variousness of magazines could bring about confusion when it is abused indiscreetly. This paper examines the structure, styles and designs of domestic magazines, and analyzes their contents and visual aspects respectively. And the survey conducted with the subjects of magazine readers questioned preference for design and lifestyle magazines, and presents problems in editing design. Through the investigation of magazine design, this paper aims to identify the diversity of magazine design corresponding the particular society and culture, and readers` needs for various-shaped deliveries of information and interests.

ABSTRACT
Unimaginable possibilities which we couldn`t even dream of in the past are introduced due to the digitalization of information. For past 10 years we have seen a rapid growth of the interactive mass. For example, many different mediums such as computer games, computer operation system run by window, CD-ROM, DVD and web sites have turned into commonplace names. But a slight problem occurs when the computer related technology of turning optical information mediums such as letters, pictures, images and sounds into digital signals, controlling and recording them progress. How can we possibly search for the information we need efficiently among all the overwhelming information on a single screen? In other words, we are facing the problem of how to design the single screen which allows us to share the information with the machine, computer and how to plan the overall structure of the information system according to our way of recognition. Interactive mediums have turned into a significant part of our communication system when the existing form of information converted from analog to digital. And as a result the rapid growth of the amount of information and the complication in connecting different pages are causing much inconvenience and chaos to searchers when they look for selective information and try to use it efficiently. In this study I have come to realize the importance of the roles of designers and the organic relation between optical elements considering all the problems written above. The designers who produce double-direction mediums should at least understand clearly the difference between the contemporary printed mediums and the double-direction mediums. And base on this understanding the designing work has to be done considering the characteristics of different mediums and the positions of users. Besides that, the human recognition, its process and emotional engineering should be considered important due to the fact that searchers are participating in the processes of the mediums.
