ABSTRACT
Background In this study, I intend to create a more eco-friendly and beautiful space in real life by grafting light art that takes advantage of the characteristics of light on top of material research and expression methods on textiles that are creative and utilize both functionality and aesthetics. To this end, I would like to present a nature-friendly textiles that express unique textures using the physical properties and decorative properties of natural materials.
Methods The general types and characteristics of natural fibers were identified, and the directions that could be used together with natural fibers were examined through the characteristics and examples of light in light art. The purpose is to study about space design that utilizes Andongpo and light art.
Result On Andongpo, which has an eco-friendly and Korean image, I propose a space design that utilizes color change, contrast of light and shade, and patterns with the use of LEDs. Thus, the experiment of introducing light in the textile design field was intended to prove that a new space could be created.
Conclusion Unlike conventional light art, which features direct light, light penetration and shading in textile materials, light is composed indirectly, creating a subtle atmosphere of space and the weaving of the fiber itself, making its characteristics clearer. It is expected that this study will contribute to the expansion of the field and the globalization of traditional culture through various research and development of natural fiber materials.

JEWNR 72(0) 57-68, 2021 |
ABSTRACT
Background Information on the historical and cultural resources is utilized for the interaction of various contents. On the other hand, the essential symbolism of historical and cultural resources is lost in the process of information transfer, which leads to an interpretation with a different meaning. The purpose of this study is to identify a design method that is convenient for visual acceptance for modern people with keeping of essential symbolism.
Methods Based on previous research, this research studied cases of infographics on the grounds of the key elements of‘information visualization wheel model’of Alberto Cairo and theory of storytelling and narrative structure in information visualization and infographics. An infographic work for historical and cultural resources including events and times was selected as a research subject and the study was conducted with the reorganization of the analytical framework for the criteria.
Result The structure of the information to be transmitted should be established, including interrelationships between the information visualization and the infographics for historical and cultural resources before the analysis. Most of the infographics for historical and cultural resources were image-type storytelling, which made it easy to express the narrative structure. And the characteristics of the narrative were supplemented by the timeline and location/geography infographics. However, the historical background such as the design intent or the message was not addressed based on the basic knowledge of the information recipient.
Conclusion This research is meaningful in that it studied the expression analysis of the historical and cultural resources through the information visualization, and then identified the characteristics of narrative elements that are found in infographics, and then studied the systematic visualization methods for the infographic design. In other words, infographics for future historical and cultural resources should further promote dynamism, attention, and interest to convey meaning by using motion graphics more actively. In order to express narrative characteristics through infographics, a more efficient information delivery method is required. Expressions and values containing values for the future should be further improved. In addition, research on the use of figures, colors, photos, illustrations, and typography to comprehensively and effectively express such information is required rather than focusing on infographics only on partial events and specific people. It is proposed to stimulate imagination and interest through symbolism and representation rather than obsessing over reality. Based on this, it is meaningful that this study investigated a more systematic visualization method for infographic design.

A study on the Effective Application of Platinum Casting Using Centrifugal Casting machine
|
박성모 Park Sung-mo , 안일훈 Ahn Il-hoon |
JEWNR 72(0) 95-104, 2021 |
ABSTRACT
Background In the past, even in Korea, statues of Buddha and household items have been made with the casting technique for hundreds of years. Casting of platinum jewelry was developed in Japan in 1967 for mass production. At this time, centrifugal casting machine was used, but at that time, gypsum investment material for platinum was not sufficient as a casting material for platinum alloy with high melting point characteristics, and there were many disadvantages such as finishing treatment after casting, such as problems in the molding process and rough surface condition. In modern times, the characteristics of cast metals have been gradually revealed, the state of the metal has been elucidated, and technology has advanced, making it possible to cast high melting point cast metals such as platinum. However, it is not easy to produce a complete cast product immediately. In Korea, the theoretical system based on a clear technical system is still insufficient, and it is dependent on the empirical work and oral guessing of the casting engineer. Also, the theoretical background is mostly books based on overseas data, and the characteristics of domestic humidity, temperature, climate, etc., which are different from overseas environments, make it impossible to always obtain desired product results from precious metal products that require precise work.
Methods This study tried to theoretically establish the technology for each process of the centrifugal casting technique of platinum based on the analysis of field work for various methods of precious metal casting. By analyzing the causal relationship of defects in castings that may occur in the casting process, various causes such as casting techniques, casting machines, auxiliary tools, gypsum materials, and metal castings were recorded and solutions were described. The metal casting body was tested using an alloy of Pt900 (Platinum 90% + Palladium 10%), which is most commonly used in platinum casting, and the step-by-step casting technology process of the centrifugal casting machine is summarized. In this study, among the casting machines, centrifugal casting machines are used for research. A high-frequency casting machine commonly used for platinum casting is an expensive and expensive casting machine. Since it is difficult to purchase at a general small company, it is necessary to entrust a company specializing in platinum casting to produce platinum casting products. Since the order quantity of platinum itself is small, casting is carried out by mixing orders from several companies. In this case, it is difficult to match the purity of platinum, and the time schedule is different, so it is difficult to release the product. In order to solve these difficulties, this study conducted research using a centrifugal casting machine that can produce a small amount that is difficult to implement in a high-frequency casting machine, obtain smooth working time and desired purity (content), and can be used by small companies.
Result Due to the lack of practical and systematic knowledge or data on the platinum casting process, the experiment was conducted after requesting advice from a working person at a casting machine shop. The manufacturer was instructed on the correct method of using the equipment, and the factors that cause defects in casting products were investigated and research contents to solve the problems were summarized. The results of the centrifugal casting machine research for platinum can be summarized as follows.
First, the platinum investment agent has the complexity of using a mixture of fine powder, coarse powder, and hardener, and it is okay to use only one fine powder because the defect rate due to deterioration of the hardener increases.
Second, preheating before casting platinum is very important. The longer the preheating time, the better the result of a clean surface can be obtained, and the optimal temperature data can be utilized due to the difference in the thickness of the object.
Third, proficiency in identifying and maintaining an appropriate temperature during casting is required. The limit due to the melting point temperature difference requires skilled experience in using an oxygen gas stove, and inexperience in casting temperature control management leads to defective objects.
Fourth, the centrifugal casting machine has sufficient usability. The advantages of centrifugal casting only to offset the disadvantages of expensive high-frequency casting machines include the ability to cast small amounts, low cost, controllability of platinum purity for each flask, and efficiency such as adjustment of working hours.
Conclusion This study analyzed the contents of research based on the experience and know-how of platinum casting and precious metal processing, and tried to establish a more improved platinum casting technology process as a result of research through experiments.
It is hoped that this study will serve as an opportunity to improve performance and pursue high added value for companies and product developers wishing to cast platinum.

ABSTRACT
Background The purpose of this paper is to improve the perception of residents who use the southeast national industrial park, to make better the old or abandened space, and to improve the night landscape design for citizens and workers in this area.
Methods The research method was done by researching on books, papers, the Internet, and field data. Especially, field surveys include utilizing professional measuring equipment, photographing directly and investigating luminance, illuminance, and color temperature.
Result The lighting environment was investigated by selecting the green area near Namdong Indus Park Station and the park green area near Hogupo Station. Illumination was secured in the green area near the southeast Indus Park Station, but blind spots of light occurred due to the uniform lighting arrangement , and the high color temperature made the atmosphere cold. The green area near Hogupo Station is not fully lit, so it is difficult to walk around. Overall, the lighting design by light and CPTED are not applied in both places. Based on this, I organized by creating a table and simulated. In Namdong National Industrial Complex, the biggest problem was lighting design that did not consider users who use Namdong National Industrial Complex, and to improve this, landscape lighting design, image simulation, and data simulation were conducted.
Conclusion The illuminance of Namdong Indus Park Station is 20 lx at the maximum and 0.8 lx at the minimum. The maximum luminance was 22.1 cd/㎡, the lowest luminance was 0.8 cd/㎡, and the color temperature was 5600K. Therefore, the illuminance was set to measure an average illuminance of 15 lx, and the luminance was designed to measure a maximum of 20 cd/㎡ and a minimum of 9 cd/㎡. In addition, the color temperature was changed so that 4000K was measured. The illuminance of Hogupo Station was 0lx and the luminance value was measured to be 0.2cd/㎡ at the maximum and 0cd/㎡ at the minimum. The color temperature was 5600K. In the simulation, the average illuminance of 15 lx was measured, and the luminance was designed to measure a maximum of 20 cd/㎡ and a minimum of 9 cd/㎡. The color temperature was also changed so that 4000K was measured. Both the vicinity of Namdong Indus Park Station and Hogupo Station meet the illuminance standard (KS A 3011), and a new design standard has been prepared that includes a CPTED design and considers the users. Based on this, it is necessary to develop a new design guideline that takes advantage of the unique characteristics of the Namdong National Industrial Complex and considers the safety and situation of users.
