Proposal of Design Education Process Focused on the UX Design Visualization of IoT-based Products

ABSTRACT
Background IoT (nternet of Things) technology-based products are increasing along with advances in smart technologies and the spread of IT network environments. The objects of product users' interaction are also expanding to the physical elements of a product, the App that forms one system with the product, and to other networked products/systems. As a result, it is necessary to redefine what should be dealt with importantly in product design education. This study aims to propose an education process for IoT-based product design education, specifically focusing on the process of the integrated visualization of ideas of physical products and App screens.
Methods For this study, prior studies on product design concepts and design education processes were reviewed and the characteristics of user experience (UX) design to be considered for IoT-based products were investigated. Then, based on examples of class projects with the subjects of IoT product design, this research proposes an education process model that can develop capabilities of visualizing UX design ideas of IoT products.
Result The design visualization education process model for IoT products proposed in this study focuses on the process of visualizing and developing user experience (UX) ideas of product concepts combining IoT products and App service.
Conclusion As the application of IT network technology to everyday products expands, cultivating the ability to propose new concepts of experiences with IoT products is becoming more important in product design education. The education process proposed in this study is expected to contribute to the development of designers' capabilities to present product concepts and visualization outputs while considering the characteristics of the changing technological environment.

Perception and Management Behavior of Vietnamese Migrant Women in Scalp and Hair Management

ABSTRACT
Background Since the 1980s, foreigners and multicultural families in Korean society have continuously increased, and in 2019, foreign residents accounted for 4.9% of the total population, reaching a multicultural society. Marriage immigrants are increasing steadily every year, and most of them are foreign migrant women who marry Korean men, of which Vietnamese women have the highest proportion. Therefore, this study aims to find out about the perceptions and preferences for managing scalp and hair for Vietnamese migrant women.
Methods This study has distributed 345 questionnaires to Vietnamese migrant women residing in Korea from June 10 to 21, 2020. After removing outliers, 285 responses were selected for the final analysis. SPSS 21.0 has been set for the statistical program for the data analysis. To verify the reliability of the questionnaire, Cronbach's a was conducted. Also to fulfill the requirement of the study, frequency analysis, Chi-Square test(X2), exploratory factor analysis, and T-test of independent samples were conducted. To examine the sub-dimensions of Vietnamese women residing in Korea's scalp and hair management perception and interest a factor analysis has been conducted
Result The awareness and preference of scalp and hair treatment of Vietnamese female derived the result of 'Scalp and Hair Care Awareness' and 'Scalp and Hair Care Preference', 'Scalp and Hair Care Interest'. Study results show that the sub-dimensions of scalp and hair treatment behaviors by the marital status of migrant women were derived to 'scalp and hair care attitude' and 'scalp and hair care methods'. Statistics show that marital status did not influence the behavior of scalp and hair treatment method awareness and interest. However, there were significant differences between the two groups on the attitude of scalp and hair treatment.
Conclusion It is expected to provide basic data on the preferred scalp hair products and management methods of Vietnamese migrant women, a new member of the beauty industry, and to be used as various marketing materials for the hair beauty market.

The Effect of Face Mask Design on User's Face Mask Recognition and Purchase Behavior

ABSTRACT
Background With the increasing global risk of infectious diseases caused by the COVID-19 virus, users' demand for personal hygiene products is increasing differently than before. In addition, wearing a mask that has been different from the likes and dislikes according to cultural and customary influencing factors is being learned by people as an almost mandatory recommendation, but the controversy over the pros and cons is growing. This indicates that consideration of personal cognitive factors other than functional factors should be reflected in the design of hygiene products, but discussion on this has been insufficient so far.
Methods An experiment was conducted to evaluate the image before and after wearing a mask and an online questionnaire about mask use behavior among the survey participants. First, in order to understand the effect of the mask on the user's image, the participants were asked to evaluate the image before and after wearing the mask of each age model and to compare the differences. Next, the influence of each design factor of the mask on purchasing behavior was identified.
Result Factors to be considered in the aspect of mask design and use, and the direction of mask design were proposed. First, it was confirmed that the design element of the mask has an effect of positive reinforcement on the user's image, and second, when purchasing a mask, it increases confidence in product purchase, and finally, it has an effect on satisfaction while wearing it.
Conclusion Through this result, four mask design improvement directions were proposed: 1) 'Let the user's image be positively reinforced', 2) 'Reflect the convenience considering the wearing time', 3) 'Be able to check safety during use', 4) 'Consider the context before and after using the mask.

Preference Comparison and Evaluation Model Before and After Renewal of University Symbol marks in 2010-2020

ABSTRACT
Background With the dramatic changes in the educational environment in the 21st century, universities are increasingly competing for student retention, social support and so on. In order to strengthen their competitiveness through the innovation of image, domestic universities are implementing the innovation strategy of university identity which takes the renewal of symbol mark as the core. However, in the upsurge of renewal, because there is no evaluation mechanism for the actual effect, so there are voices of skepticism. Therefore, it is necessary to compare the degree of preference before and after the update of university symbol marks in recent years, and build an evaluation model.
Methods This study compared and evaluated each evaluation factor and preference among 32 before and after comparison cases of 16 universities renewed between 2010 and 2020 using independent sample t-test, using linear regression to verify the impact of each evaluation factor on the preference of university symbol.
Result Based on the regression equation, the evaluation model of University symbol mark renewal is constructed, which is 16.5%, 16.4%, 15.6%, 23.6%, and 27.9% respectively in history and traditional, originality, aesthetic, sustainability and identification.
Conclusion Compared with the cases before the renewal, the cases after the renewal of university symbol marks from 2010 to 2020 have a great improvement in sustainability and identification, while the originality and aesthetic have been improved, but the historical and traditional characteristics have decreased significantly. In the future renewal project, we should keep the sustainability and identification of the University symbol mark, and simplify the design elements that symbolize the culture and history of the University, so as to enhance and continue the history and traditional of the University symbol mark.

Romantic Characteristics Expressed in Simone Rocha’s Fashion - Focusing on Fashion Collections from 2012 S/S to 2020 F/W -

ABSTRACT
Background Romanticism with such keywords as human emotion, instinct and a sense of free creativity conveys a limitless inspiration to modern fashion. This study aims to analyze the Simone Rocha's fashion works unfolding her own emotion and vision and explore the romantic characteristics in them.
Methods As research method, literature review and case stud y about collection analysis were chosen. Firstly, literature was screened about concept of romanticism, correlation between modern fashion and romanticism, Simone Rocha's personal his tory and fashion world. Secondly, collections from 2012 S/S to 2020 F/W were picked as case study. Then, romantic feature s were deduced through analysis on formative aspect about material composition, pattern, and ornamental props.
Result Romantic feature in Simone Rocha's work has the following characteristics: reinterpretation of past romanticism costume, pursuit of Ireland-based fashion aesthetics, indulgence in nature, expression of exotic sense, and introspection of self and woman. This implies that all characteristics sought by romanticism turn to fashion language and that these generate a brand-new romantic fashion, assisting to recognize differentiated aesthetics.
Conclusion Simone Rocha's fashion does not just repeat the past romanticism but fuse the romance with manifold modern woman's and her emotion. By doing so, her fashion built with brand's unique aesthetics would aid in expressing the way of romanticism fashion. With accelerated advance toward the state-of-the-art society, the romanticism value would be regarded more important. Amid this circumstance, the fashion image would become rich in quality and quantity through various assessment about it.

An Analysis on the Exhibition and Presentation of Intangible Cultural Properties in Korean Traditional Play

ABSTRACT
Background Intangible cultural assets have been recognized as intangible historical values, and their importance should be continued through succession and preservation. In this study, the exhibition of intangible cultural assets in the field of state-designated traditional play was studied as an example.
Methods For this study, the theoretical consideration looked at intangible cultural assets, and the analysis method was classified into exhibition media and media complexity through the characteristics of traditional games and prior research on exhibition production of intangible cultural assets. Among the intangible cultural assets designated by the state, the intangible cultural assets were selected as Gwangju Chilseokgo Fighting Nori, Andong Chajeon Nori, Beopseongpo Danoje, Gizisi Juldari, and Gangneung Danoje.
Result The analysis of the five cases showed that the exhibition production was different depending on the opening of the exhibition hall. The older the exhibition hall was opened, the more it was composed of a single medium, mainly panels, general images, and general models, and the recently built exhibition hall used a combination of special images, operating models and information systems.
Conclusion The traditional play intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall is actively utilizing various media and high-tech media to communicate with visitors. In the future, the newly established exhibition hall of traditional play intangible cultural assets will require deep consideration on how to direct various exhibition media to suit the exhibition environment.

Convergently implicated valueware & aesthetic norm of magnifestation as on white porcelain ridge line of the Joseon Dynasty

ABSTRACT
Background This study seeks to explore the source of convergent implicated valueware through an investigation of the existential nature of the depth embodied in white porcelains of the Joseon Dynasty and its aesthetic private thought. The axiological problem-statement of the justification of this thesis is explained through the elements of the form, the concept of properties the signification of the spatiotemporal representation of the nature of the ridge line, which is the outline of white porcelain that acts, and the polysemy acceptability of levels.
The qualification of and elucidates of shape and the embodying property, which is a mediator of carrying representation. This is because thought, as the cause that defines the being of beauty on the level of thought embodied in reality, is the unique ground that causes things to be the way they are, and because it the contents of the integrated and embodied whole.
The purpose of this study is to define of the ridge line present in white porcelain, as well as the aesthetic norm of depth and the convergent implication-value, interpret the basis of the transcendental being of hyun (玄) and sang (常) and explore the legitimacy of the thesis.
Methods For the method of study, conditions, premises, and norms, which are the various forms involved in conceptual judgment and inference, were applied to formal logic, where the focus is on inference of epistemological logic, and the idealistic dialectic that logically analyzes concepts and attributes. For the standard of logic and the method of implication, the Elito Method was applied to infer the value.
Result The results are as follows:
First: hyun (玄) and sang (常) are signified & ethos where at ceramic performing as a the legitimacy germination of the embedded properties on fundamental creativity of the transcendent white porcelain with its significant elements.
Second: The aesthetic norm of depth and the elucidation of convergent aesthetic valueware identified of through the realization of the artist’s inner world, which is based on the cosmology and natural world view found in white porcelain.
Third: The axiomatic secondary study of the “ridge line” examined reciprocity by demonstrating change, expansion and circulation that cross dimensions & correspond to the properties of the beyond dimensionality.
Fourth: The embedded valueware identity of the ridge line, which is the source of the beauty of private thought is that was also conformed the uniqueness of aesthetic value & reflect the identity of life afforded Joseon people conceived in white porcelain.
In the future, we need to study the aesthetic norms of the formative nature of Korean esprit.

A Study on the Effectiveness of Design Learning Ethics Education Model - Focusing on the Universal Learning Ethics Education Model -

ABSTRACT
Background As awareness of the importance of research ethics and interest in learning ethics education increased, prior research on the required learning ethics education was conducted according to major, and the need for methodical research was confirmed to effectively implement design learning ethics education during design practice classes.
Methods First, we derive a learning ethics education model through a theoretical consideration of universal learning design and maker education. Second, the study ethics education model that is universally applicable to various design major classes was developed and the contents of the learning ethics education were developed and organized for the class. Third, quantitative questionnaires were designed to select the classes to be studied and verify the effectiveness of education, and surveys were conducted in the second and 15th weeks.
Result Students found that the above four factors were statistically significantly higher in 15th week than in second week for problem definition and idea generation, selective idea utilization, cognitive sharing, and exploration and collaborative information collection. In the question of the effectiveness of learning ethics education, more than 87 to 93 percent said that educational materials, design research notes, and checklist were effective in forming alertness.
Conclusion The above results allowed us to verify the utility of a universal learning ethics education model applicable in design practice classes.

Structural Relationship among Purchase Intention, Beauty Influencer Credibility, Information Acceptance, and Product Attitude

ABSTRACT
Background This study aims to examine the structural relationship among purchase intention, beauty influencer credibility, information acceptance, and product attitude, and then presents direct and indirect effects among variables which affect purchase intention.
Methods A survey was conducted among 450 women in their 20s consumers who had ever purchased products introduced by beauty influencers in Instagram. Data were analyzed using AMOS 26.0 and SPSS 26.0.
Result Beauty influencer credibility, information acceptance, and product attitude exercised direct & indirect influence on purchase intention. Among the variables directly affecting the purchase intention, beauty influencer credibility had the largest effect, and beauty influencer credibility had the most indirect effect on purchase intention through product attitude in the indirect effects affecting purchase intention.
Conclusion This indicates that beauty influencer credibility is an important variable that directly or indirectly affects the purchase intention. It is worth noting that product attitude plays a mediating role to increase purchase intention.

A Study on the Types of Space Contents of Modern Architecture during Japanese Colonial Period - Focused on the cases of South Korean and Taiwan -

ABSTRACT
Background Utilizing modern architecture as the region’s property to reserve its identity and reactivate the city became a crucial topic after the 2000s. This study introduces a concept of space contents that involve various experiences with space.
Methods The previous study contemplated a conclusion to the concept and category of space contents and considered experience factors. For case analysis, a total of eight South Korean and Taiwan modern architecture that went through a similar modern era was selected. Spatial composition analysis and experience factor analysis based on each type of space contents were implemented.
Result Besides the basic fulfillment of entertainment and esthetic factors, exhibition cultural space was a type that requires active supplies for escapist factor and education of cultural art. In terms of providing space for enjoying local cultural art with the support of the artist’s art making, art creation space was a type that best needs mutual contact with the local community. Consumption commercial space was a type that requires a sense and will of the manager itself. So, it could rather make a huge difference on providing various experiences of space contents. Complex cultural space was a type of space that combines exhibition cultural space and something else. This required the largest area of space, and an integral and systematic management and planning.
Conclusion Modern architecture was noticeable in providing various and differentiated experience factors by utilizing the historical stories and preservation value. This is expected to be utilized in a basic study for various uses and continuous activation of space.
