Visual Design Arts has been recently expanded in its domain as its field was subdivided in accordance with the industrialization and information of society. It is becoming a means in the information era as it approaches to the field of science and thechnology departing from formative arts. However, we can find that the work of arts is possible without sacrificing intervention and vision of artists for the society of information, industrialized structure and mechanicles as its design seeks to integrete arts and life through Herbert Bayer, 1900~1985, who got lesseons and worked in the days of Modernism. It is thought that the era of Modernism belongs to the modern ages in design field but the education in design field takes its procedure important even in recent days as well as modern days because it should look back the past through the present. The objective of examining Herbert Bayer in Bauhaus days and his activities in America, a country of high commecialism, is significant to study the relation with the formative arts in the education, the importance of designers and usefulness in Visual Design Arts.

ABSTRACT
The more our chlture and relies on information industry and technological innovations, the more our every day life and work environments are permeated with multimedia. Printed matter, which has become unavoidable part of our modern life, is one of the basic sources of knowledge and information, commercial or otherwise. The 21st-century will see various changes in printed media as the present society is moving along the information highway. It is also said, quite accurately, that the making of future information society will be expedited through radical developments in printed matter. Improvements of editorial designs in every printed media will help facilitate the aforementioned process : more specifically, the lay-out techniques and the grid methods will prove essential to new editorial designs geared toward the next century. Thus, this study aims to present concrete examples to help illustrate various editorial lay-out techniques and space concepts-and their simulations, too. Needless to say, all this will help contribute to the innovation of printed matter much needed in modern society.

ABSTRACT
We cannot get along even a day without coming in touch with hundreds of thousands of advertising images in this advertising age in which we are attracted less by complicated logical languages than brief visual language images. Though these advertising messages remain in our memory or escape our memory, at any rate, we get the messages for a moment when we take a sight of them. These messages also stimulate our imagination by recalling something to our mind or by letting us expect something. If the aim of advertising is to sell products or services by letting people feel dissatisfied with their present ways of living at the sight of the advertising, it goes without saying that the advertising should be differentitated in one way or another in consideration of the fact that too much similar products are on the market recently. A technique of visual scandal in forms of advertising expression is being used as one of differentiation methods. In consequence, the purpose of this study is to contribute to the development of visual design characterized by symbols through visual(including computer graphic) the eyes of the masses can grasp through cases of visual scandal represented by recent advertising industry.

ABSTRACT
With the popularzation of computers in the multimedia age. The tools and medods of designing have changed. As a result, we are epected to change our sense of values and ways of thanking. Designing can be carried out in mdre diverse and effective ways if we are able to use computers, which is quite defferent from the old way of designing by hand. To design more efficiently and easily in this period of transition from hand designing to computers, a through education in the use of computers in necessary. Schools and companies should also have the nesessary computer systems. The in-house periodicals that many companies publish could not be effective in enhancing the company image, if too much emphasis were placed on content dver design, or, conversely, on design over content. In most compaines, editors of in-house peridicals are trained in journalism, and tend to commission outsiders for design. The outsiders, however. Are ofen unable to being out the unique characterristics of the company. Companies should take more interrest in the process of planning and publishing in-house peridicals and provide greater support for the publications. Rather than commissioning outsiders to do the job together with the planners and editors. If the designers and planners have to work separately, they should come together at some point to coordinate their opinions and work out compromises to raise the quality of the in-house peridical. I would like to make several proposals for the publication of an in-house periodical that befits the multi-midia age. First, Designers should study various in-house publications and work hard to publish a periodical that not only offers interresting articles but also has a unique character which distinguishes it from all other similar publications. Second, Designers should learn the complete users of the Macintosh computer so that they know various ways to design in-house publications. Third, To train and produce excellent designers, schools and companies should be equipped with all the necessary computer systems. Fourth, The design of in -house publications should be future-oriented. Fifth, In the age of globalization, in-house publications should be designed in such a way that they could bring out images that are uniquely Korean. Sixth, Ordinary periodicals are published for profit, but in-house publications are aimed mostly at helping the marketing team of the company indirectly by heightening the image of the company. In this respect, in-house publications should be interesting both in content and design. They should also help raise the productivity and efficiency of all the employees and promote the smooth operation of the company while preseting a good image of the company to the outside the world
