ABSTRACT
While advertisement design education sheds light on idea expression method and technique of expression, the evaluation of how effectively advertisement expressions deliver advertisement contents is considered less important, and remains considerably subjective and ambiguous if any. To arouse their curiosity, the education requires students to practice to treat signification as metaphor. It is problematic that their arbitrary interpretation of signification is evaluated without any objective indicator.
This study aims to develop a tool for students in an advertisement design class to review how effectively the advertisement design presents its signification in the middle stage through a semiotic approach by themselves. To that end, the paper discussed semiotic approaches in existing studies, conducted a case study on award-winning works of public service advertisement in printed media, and then proposed a framework to visibly check out the association between the quantity of signs and the ultimate message of the advertisement and that between isotope and the message.
The case study found that the quantity of signs and their association with the message are related with the quantity of total information in the advertisement and necessary core information and the difference between the quantity of signs and their association confirms their uncertainty. The quantity of isotope is related with overlapped meanings of signs. A high degree of overlapping makes the message of the advertisement clearer, but the message is exposed too easily to make the advertisement less interesting.

ABSTRACT
This thesis basically aims to reinterpret furniture and its relation to daily routine by suggesting a new method to create furniture through study on furniture design as a symbolic function under hypothetical circumstances. It also analyzes a practical possibility of its theoretical result by going over the concept of the researcher`s work and drawing out its features.
In this regard, the current researcher objectivize human routine by, first of all, defining `house` as daily stage, states a theoretical research on routine and house and also states concepts and examples about symbolic functions of furniture that can trigger active changes in human attitude. Besides, by discussing the meaning of setting a theoretical environment and analyzing work cases, it studies on visual gadgets and their effect used to setting a theoretical environment. Lastly, it reviews the current researcher`s work < A Place, Left Behind > concept, explains the outcome and analyzes its features.
Using a new methodological approach of design, it describes a possibility enabling private individuals to critically see their daily routine, though which it draws out features and symbolic functionality of furniture as a conceptual tool in daily living.

ABSTRACT
Gyeongsangbuk-do has emphasized its cultural contents as its focal momentum for creative economy and prosecuted its `Three Great Cultural Sphere Project` to realize its cultural tour zone melting rivers, mountains, the sun and Korean culture together. Based on its potential historical/cultural resources and eco-friendly resources, it has prosecuted cultural projects with the goal of opening the door to renaissance era of local cultural industries.
At this juncture of time, Yongnam University`s Culturally Convergent Design Ecology Composition Project has reviewed directionality of the currently on-going Three Great Cultural Sphere Project,` and tried to maximize effects of Gyeongsangbuk-do`s cultural industry by conducting researches on ecological structures of the cultural industry able to supplement its project structure so far centered on building facilities.
This thesis analyzes the cycling structure of the local cultural industry and convergence design, and presents the directionality of building industrial ecology environment that should be prepared for local cultural industries to have their voluntary direction on their own in a pursuit after plans to recreate visible/invisible historical/cultural resources into high value-producing cultural industry fit for the paradigm of the 21st century`s creative economy era.
Conclusively, in that this study has completed a virtuous circulation of synergy effects by means of mutual exchange of education, industry and economy, it has produced a positive effect on creating jobs via composing `local cultural convergence design renaissance` and `creative cultural convergence design ecology composition` on the basis of `bringing up creative culturally convergent talent` and `culturally convergent design industrial ecology` via `cultural convergence design education specialization
