A Study on the design of defense game characters by utilizing storytelling - Focusing on Silla`s 30th King Moonmu(文武王) -

Abstract
The development of cultural contents is a part of work establishing Korean cultural icon. Lots of time and efforts are necessary so that our cultural contents can compete as an international product. This research considered the multiuse application of defense game and characters by developing and designing characters based on the King, Moonmu related tale transmitted on recorded cultural assets such as 『Samkooksagi』and 『Samkookyusa』in our culture`s original type. In the introduction, it suggested purposes of research and problems, considered cultural contents` industrial significance of cultural contents of Korean antient tales utilizing storytelling and arranged contents developing measures of `King, Moonmu` tale. As the measure making contents of King, Moonmu, it was newly created under the motif of tale related to `King, Moonmu`. The contents of `King, Moonmu` tales are organized by common characters and stories from children to youth and adults based on instructive story. And, characters were designed by drawing characters related to `King, Moonmu` tale. In other words, characters were designed by applying storytelling focusing on a hero of King, Moonmu defense game, King, Moonmu, Hokookyong, Jiuibupsa, Hwarangsonyeo, Ssaulabi Mir, Silla soldier, etc. Each character was added by explanation of applied character and equipment of pleasure, so developed to use multiuse characteristics for applying it contemporarily.
