| Abstract |
| The purpose of this study is to consider the characteristics of Cholo fashion style and images appeared on United States of America. The results of this study can be summarized as followings. The images of Cholo fashion style are violent image, goth image, and sportive image. Violent image has been involving loose silhouette working cloth, black beanie and bandana implied working class identity and aggression toward Anglo-American society. Goth image has been involving tattoo or prints of religious or grotesque motives in black & white color implied race identity and anti-classic taste. Sportive image has been involving casual wear in various vivid colors implied healthy out door spirit and yellow women`s eroticism. In Conclusion, Cholo fashion style is based on desire for freedom from social discrimination and prejudice. |
