Development of Digital Naturalism in Fashion Design Using Lenticular Motion Graphics

Abstract
We are currently living in a society where digital technology is impacting the overall society and increased concern resulting from industrialization-led environmental problems and concern about naturalism is very high. This social trend has created a new paradigm of digital naturalism combining naturalistic thought and digital technology in the area of design. The purpose of this study is in analyzing formative features of plant plankton which is the motive of naturalism and digital naturalism fashion and also in developing and manufacturing digital naturalism fashion design utilizing Lenticular Motion - Graphics. The followings are the results of this study; The composition and development of digital naturalism fashion design is that in all design, polygonal silhouette of plant plankton was formatively transformed and on its surface polygonal incision is expressed in a straight line making the images of plankton to be conceived. The straight line polygonal incision can be said to be a design composition which express to the characteristics of soft lenticular sheet. For pattern and color, the pictures which were painted with digital color painted on the plankton`s optical microscope pictures were cited and it was digitally printed applying the lenticular flip technique. Accordingly the geometrical pattern and abstract images by graphic effects could express very well the dynamic effect and the dramatic reverse of images and the changeable characteristics of digital naturalism fashion by Lenticular flip techniques. The texture of soft Lenticular sheet materials, compared to hard texture, are very flexible and sewing is possible, and on its surface there are delicate and repetitive straight line holes and it is glossy. From these features it is understood that the beautiful pattern of plankton can be mystically expressed.
