A User Interface Design for Enhancing Trust of a Water Quality Application

Abstract
In the water quality management systems, measuring exact water quality and reporting the measured data are the essential steps for the success of the management, and a lot of research and technical developments for collecting accurate and trustable water quality data have been conducted. However, most research and development have mainly focused on the accuracy of the data and neglected the importance of a user interface. This research inquires into the main factors of the trust formation that can be apply to application of water quality measurement, and suggests the design concept of its user interface that can enhance the trust formation of application through the main factors of the trust formation. For this, literature review was conducted to collect the factors of trust formation, and design concepts were suggested by applying the factors. This research is meaningful because applying the factors into a user interface design was practically conducted.
