Abstract
In this information-oriented era, changes in social paradigms have brought rapid changes in various areas including culture, economy and education. Such trend has been accepted as an important opportunity in education and needs changes in social structures, educational recognition and educational environment. Elementary schools provide the most fundamental and basic education as a compulsory education and nurture desirable and creative attitudes of students as a base for succeeding education. Educational institutions and methods to achieve elementary educational purposes focus on respecting personality and helping students to enthusiastically exert their ability. Therefore, this study aims to identify characteristics of space composition according to acceptance of social changes and diversified curriculum focusing on learning space of elementary schools. For the purpose, educational environment which can effectively correspond with changed learning space was developed and learning space for elementary schools constituted according to the 7th Curriculum was analysed. As a result of analysing composition of learning and multi-purposed space which is a focus of the 7th Curriculum revised in 2009 and open space, planning directions to constitute open space, independent space and integrated space were obtained.
