A Study on the cellular-phone usage of teenagers by the ZMET

Abstract
This study focuses on teenager`s recognition of a cellular-phone`s usage and that is related in design of cellular-phone by the ZMET, an in-depth interview technique for metaphor. The results of the study are as follows. First, it appears to teenagers that their recognition of cellular-phone`s usage is dimension of social, emotion, relation, instrument. Dimension of social has the core concept of fashion and design, dimension of emotion has the core concept of an intimate friend or an obstacle, dimension of relation has the core concept of management of image and communication, and dimension of instrument has the core concept of mobility and in common. Second, the dimension of relation to design are social and emotion. The social dimension has the construct concept of fashion, mine, an external form, personality, ostentation. The emotional dimension has the construct concept of an intimate friend, a treasure, a puppy, a comic book. The construct concepts are able to make full use of design of a new product and communication strategy.
