| Abstract |
| Today Internet has become an integral part of our daily life. The various web icons that we can see on the Internet convey information as a visual language that can affect the behavior of the users who are exposed to the information. Icons are widely used as a means of communication on the Web since they are perceived more easily than text messages by the users. Icons have been used more widelyand have been evolved due to the popularization of Internet regardless of sex or age. An Icon is one of the Symbols. Semiotics is associated with communications and other fields that deal with `the delivery of the meanings`. The purpose of this study is to investigate the trend of Web Icons in Korea, and to analyze the issues related to the improvement of Icon designby reviewing the concept of Icons and by an analysis of the different types of Icons. The Icons analyzed in this study were the Grand Prize Winners of Web Award Korea. |
