Abstract
Much progress has been made in unification education which moves toward a significantly greater activation. However, due to the technical development of electronics and communications, the change in educational methods, whether direct or indirect, is required. Up to now, the Unification Education hasn`t been focused on collecting various views and opinions of our society, but focused on the distorted mechanism of deciding the contents of education in a one-way manner. In other words, the government-driven Unification Education had been more concerned about promoting and spreading the existing ideology and regime, straying from the contents of education gaining the people`s sympathy. It may be effective for the older generation who has been familiar with cramming method of education, but it becomes less effective for the protagonist of the modern communication-oriented society who will take charge of the future. As times change, the future education will be in the process of being transformed into a more generalized online education. E-learning is likely to gain more and more importance in the upcoming years as a new method of Unification Education in cyberspace will replace the conventional face-to-face education. E-learning-assisted Unification Education, in particular, still has a lot of room for further development. Furthermore, in preparation for sudden unification of Korea due to unexpected developments in the North, a new approach, e-learning-assisted Unification Education utilizing internet content, which is totally different from the conventional methods of Unification Education and will enable the various layers of people to gain free access to understanding and approach for unification in preparation for the future situation, is required now more than ever.
