Abstract
No one would doubt that the individual growth is the most important engine to enhance the national competitiveness in the modern society. However, our children who are the root for the engine are being distressed by the problems arising from technology advancement and rapid social changes. The children who undergo severe stress physically or mentally are actually put in the scope to need art therapy. Nevertheless, even if they are mostly the children with a series of problems, they are put out of therapy for the reasons of shunning views and prejudice from the surroundings.From this view, the art education for sensitivity of pre-school children, which is helpful to develop a whole man should be emphasized and extended. In particular, the writer would like to inform that the clay with which one can feel tactile sensation by fumbling with hands to be able to freely express his own thought and feeling is the medium having effective possibility as a critical tool to develop new emotional ability and sensitivity. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to highlight how important and why the sensibility art education through clay medium is necessary so as to make use of it in the education field. To this end, it intended to study the education effect of emotional quotient and clay art education through related domestic and foreign documents, identify the teaching principles for current child art education by claim medium and suggest teaching plans.
