| Abstract |
| There needs to be a paradigm of evacuation and integration in current public design, which means that public design assumes the concept as a complex body executing a variety of functions, not a design of a simple objet. Thus, the design of a manhole as unified information design in Paju City put its focus on not only the execution of its original function & design-based research but also on the manifestation of the identity of Paju City as an informative objet. This study derived an accurate City identity by conducting a survey the developmental background for Paju city from 1995 until 2007, based on which this study fused the concept of unified information design into the design of a manhole in Paju city. Together with this, it is expected that the directivity of design for Paju City and expansion of design realm could be realized from this day onward. |
