Title
Classification method by consumer perspectives for the Contents
하동원 Ha Dong-one , 이연숙 Lee Yeon-suk
Abstract
Digital contents are classified as `game`, `digital images`, `mobile contents`, `solution`, `e-leaning`, `online music` and so on, by the types of industry or the feature of media. This classification method is the best way to analyze the market trends or to prospect of industry. But it is unuseful for the contents design. This paper proposes a classification method by consumer perspectives for the contents. All contents have one or more consumer perspectives which are first person perspective, second person perspective or third person perspective. The consumer of first-person contents may be the principal character or one who is a member of a team, as I or we. The consumer of second-person contents may be a “you” in English, as a consumer of education contents. The consumer of third-person contents is a participant in the situation of contents. He or she may not have power for controls of all the events in contents. My idea is something different type of classification method in novel. In literature and storytelling, a point of view is the related experience of the narrator not that of the author. Authors rarely, in fiction, insert or inject their own voice, as this challenges the suspension of disbelief. Texts encourage the reader to identify with the narrator, not with the author. But, in this paper, a point of view is the related experience of the consumer. Now beyond the pale of existing frame, we have concentrated on the relation between contents and consumer.
