| Abstract |
| The concept of information design is formed by modern European approaches. This means various elements for efficient communication have been analyzed from viewpoints of Western culture. Information design is a science composed all over the world. Korea also has excellent documentary culture, and the sources of diverse types and forms related with the information design. This study has the purpose for analyzing characteristics of `Sunghaksipdo(성학십도)` focusing on the organization and visualization of information. `Sunghaksipdo` is the book summarizing and regulating major Confucian philosophy theories and practical methodologies to guide a young prince for a wise leader with mixed explanation text and graphics. Within limited printing technique and expressional methods in Chosun dynasty, the most effective approaches to organize and visualize information are applied. With view of graphic elements, position, direction, abstract shape are main factor for visualizing. The important lesson from `Sunghaksipdo` is the spirit and attitude to convert and express complex and vast text data into easy and clear visualized information. |
