And, he new direction of city is the enlargement of requirements the space which quality of life expresses in the identity of city with life`s space and new city`s image. So, The method and extent of the research is as follows. In order to research the graphic conditions of exteriors sigh boards, the method of research is divided as follows. Research in concerning technical matters and fundamental theory and character of exterior sign board and graphic elements. The basic data was based on the Gwangju City master plan, research prepared by established various orientation and relationship between the types, substances, materials, the amount of used languages in sign board.
