| Background With the advancement of AI technology, the digital healthcare market is rapidly expanding, offering new possibilities. The elderly, with their high need for health management, are key beneficiaries of these services. To provide satisfying healthcare experiences, it is crucial to understand their health management behaviors and expectations. Accordingly, this study aimed to derive the user values of elderly individuals based on their health management behaviors for the development of future digital healthcare services.
Methods To achieve the research objectives, a literature review was conducted to explore AI-based digital healthcare services and to examine the current status of digital healthcare services. In addition, related materials were reviewed to understand the elderly, who constitute the user group of this study. Subsequently, both literature research and user research were carried out to understand the health management behaviors of elderly users, serving as a foundation for collecting user value items. Finally, based on the collected items, survey questions were designed, a survey was conducted, and factor analysis was performed to derive the user values.
Result The user values of the information-deprived elderly have been identified as five key factors: Expert/Other Connectivity, Management Regularity, Social Connectivity, Self-Regulation, and Self-Direction.
Conclusion The user values derived in this study can be utilized in the design of future AI-based digital healthcare services. These findings are expected to contribute to providing a more satisfying healthcare experience for elderly users. |
