Background Story resources, which serve as the material for stories, are essential elements in constructing narratives and play a crucial role in enhancing the competitiveness of content. This study analyzes the association mechanism that explains the emotional transition process between stories and users. Through this, it aims to propose methods for securing story resources to revitalize local culture and further explore strategies for activating cultural content.
Methods This study analyzes visual interactions using the association mechanism theory and explores the relationship between story resources and strategies for linking them with local cultural content industries. A case study examines communication characters from various municipalities, followed by field testing in Jangseong-gun to collect story resources and develop characters and content. The results are summarized through interviews, with recommendations for future research.
Result This study identified the relationship and importance of story resource discovery, storytelling development, and cultural content utilization through the association mechanism. It proposed strategies to revitalize the underdeveloped area near Baekyangsa Station in Jangseong using local story resources. The suitability of the character applying the association mechanism was confirmed through online interviews with officials from Jangseong County Office and township offices, members of the Jangseong Youth Association, and local residents.
Conclusion The association mechanism of story resources presented in this study serves as a key example of strategies for linking with the cultural content industry, offering potential for building the identity of underdeveloped areas. This research is expected to deepen understanding of the association mechanism, foster storytelling ideas, and contribute to their visualization. |
