Background This study aims to analyze the types of navigation Graphic User Interfaces (GUI) on University Websites and investigate user usability preferences for each type to propose a more efficient and user-friendly website design guide.
Methods In the digital age, university websites play a crucial role as tools for promotion and communication, and their accessibility and ease of use significantly impact user experience (UX). This study systematically analyzes the navigation GUI types of national university websites and The usability of each type was evaluated by conducting a user survey, applying Jakob Nielsen's usability principles.
Result It was found that users prefer simple, intuitive, and consistent navigation among the GUI types of global navigation bars (GNB). Furthermore, when interacting with the GNB, users identified simplicity, visibility, and aesthetics as key factors.
Conclusion The findings of this study provide fundamental data necessary for improving the design of University websites, enhancing information delivery and communication functions, and contributing to the enhancement of university image and brand value. |
