abstract
Background With the advancement of the digital age, the importance of user interface (UI) design in lifestyle service platforms is becoming increasingly significant. In China, the diversity of regional cultures greatly influences UI design. Since users from different regions have varying preferences for colors, layouts, and symbols, platforms like Meituan and Ele.me can enhance user experience and strengthen market competitiveness by optimizing UI design according to regional cultural characteristics. Methods This study aims to analyze the impact of regional cultural characteristics in China on the UI design of lifestyle service platforms. After constructing the research model, data were collected through surveys targeting users from various regions. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS to perform descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, and regression analysis to verify the hypotheses. Demographic variables such as gender, age, and usage frequency were controlled to ensure the reliability and representativeness of the results. Result The hierarchical regression model analysis shows that, firstly, UI design elements such as culturally adaptive color use, overall layout, cultural symbols, and interactive feedback all have significant positive effects on user experience. Secondly, the impact of cultural symbols on user experience is further enhanced through the mediating effect of cultural identity, with the indirect effect being more significant than the direct effect. Thirdly, there is a need for further analysis of the long-term impact of UI design optimization on user experience. These results suggest that UI design improvement should incorporate cultural adaptability to strengthen emotional connections with users. Conclusion The findings of this study indicate that optimizing UI design can significantly enhance user experience across different cultural contexts. Design elements that consider cultural identity are particularly crucial in improving user satisfaction and emotional responses. Therefore, it is essential to incorporate cultural elements into design strategies and address the needs of diverse user groups. Furthermore, by integrating interactive elements and reward mechanisms, it is possible to increase user engagement and continuously improve user experience over the long term.
