| Background In recent years, with the advancement of Bluetooth technology, the popularity of Bluetooth earphones has significantly increased, making them a crucial component in the wireless audio device market. Despite continuous improvements in functionality and design, many users still face various challenges and issues related to Bluetooth earphone usage. Therefore, considering these challenges, there is a need for research aimed at enhancing the user experience of Bluetooth earphones.
Methods This study focused on enhancing the user experience of wireless earphones, specifically the Apple AirPods Pro. Firstly, a survey was conducted to evaluate user satisfaction regarding 9 UX elements based on previous research on wearable product user experiences. Secondly, in-depth interviews were carried out to explore users' habits, requirements, and discomforts during usage, validating the survey results. Lastly, the analysis of both the survey and interviews served as the foundation for concrete proposals to improve the user experience.
Result The study findings indicate that to enhance the user experience of Apple AirPods Pro earphones, improvements are required in reliability, usability, comfort, functionality, safety, and health aspects. Design perspectives were provided for addressing each of these aspects.
Conclusion The study identified issues with Apple AirPods Pro earphones through in-depth interviews and surveys, with findings consistently highlighting areas of concern in terms of reliability, usability, comfort, functionality, safety, and health aspects. Specific measures for improvement were proposed based on the five identified problem areas to enhance the user experience of Apple AirPods Pro earphones. |
