Title
Proposal of User Scenario-based Autonomous Vehicle User Experience Design Concept
박기철 Ki-cheol Pak
abstract
Background Most of the current research focuses only on autonomous driving technology, and design research that imbues emotional value to users is not being executed sufficiently. Therefore, this study ms to propose a UX design based on user scenarios with a foundation for understanding future autonomous vehicle environments and technologies. Methods A literature survey on the concept and definition of autonomous vehicles, their strengths and weaknesses, and the environment and design of the autonomous vehicle will be conducted. Then user scenarios such as in-depth interviews and persona settings will be followed. After setting the concept based on the completed scenario, the final UX design concept will be proposed with a foundation for understanding the environment and vehicle surrounding the autonomous vehicle and considering the user scenario. Research Result As a result of the scenario-based study, a total of two concepts were derived, which were proposed as a concept with universal usability in consideration of major users. By applying this to an actual scale model to further visualize it, it is expected that future related studies will be able to present direction. Conclusion Through this study, a user scenario-based autonomous vehicle UX design concept was proposed. As a research method, the study applied a scenario technique suitable for future research. The derived result of the UX design concept based on user scenarios is considered to be meaningful as a preliminary study related to future autonomous vehicle design and technology development. In the future, in-depth follow-up research is also expected to be built on user tests through an actual working prototyping process.
