Healing through Textile-based Creative Activities

abstract
Background Modern people enjoy material wealth as the development of advanced science, but the daily mental stress in a rapidly changing environment and competition has been weighted. Because in the increasingly complex social structure, everyone is experiencing stress socially, psychologically, physically, and interest in healing contents is rapidly rising. Therefore, this study aims to explore elements that can be cured in the creative process based on the medium called textile, analyze the healing characteristics of textile-based creative activities, and provide basic data for creative healing research. Methods This study was analyzed after collecting data through literature review through previous studies and internet research. The healing characteristics of textile-based creative activities were analyzed and presented through the consideration of healing, the consideration of textile-based creative activities, and the analysis of healing effects. Result The healing elements in textile-based creative activities can be classified into healing by techniques, healing by materials, and healing by processes. The healing properties of textile-based creative activities have been derived from intimacy, everydayness, variability, immersion, synesthesia, purposefulness, amusement, sociality, relativity, and femininity. Conclusion Healing has become a key word of modern life and culture, and the healing properties of textile-based creative activities have a valid popularity across all age groups. Therefore, it is expected that research for quantitative proof will continue through expanded research that can be viewed more newly.
