The Values of Vintage Fashion for Korean Millenials

abstract
Background The purpose of this study is to analyze the change of the meaning about vintage fashion as a result from the prosumers’involvements in the vintage fashion markets. Methods For the methodology of this study both literary and empirical study were done. To study vintage fashion and millenials literary studies were done, for vintage fashion market netnography and town-watching were done. Result The values of the traditional vintage fashion are resistance, nostalgia, showing off the wealth and scarcity. The pursue values of millenials are promoting public interests, social networking through information sharing, establishment of identity through scarcity. The values of vintage fashions for Korean millenials are creative activity based on public interest, expansive reproduction through showing of dailiness and self-expression through scarcity of the vintage clothings and interpretations. Conclusion Analyzing the features and the meanings of the process that the millenials as prosumers create and consumer the vintage fashions can be a method for elevating the characteristics of the one side of the K-fashion.
