| The purpose of this study is to review the ingenious simplicity of Korean minimalism by comparing with the Dansaekhwa artists and the Korean fashion designers. As a result, their working process of the artists and designers since 1970 there has been a lot of mutual aesthetic relation. In contemporary art and fashion inevitably be discussed in the western framework, it found that they have been the process of self-reflection to represent moderation, simplicity, ingenious techniques, and adding the Korean beauty in harmony. We understand that the characteristics of art and fashion are similar : line representation with elements of trace, a combination of plane through repetitive handwork, the natural relationship between body and work, fabric development for oversize silhouette and details, placement of primary color as the accent color in monotonous base or color combination of beige like earth etc. |
