박종혜 Park Jong-hye
abstract
This study conducted a theoretical investigation of the concept and strategy elements to apply the space contents in activating the space and improving the space value and analyzed space contents for the adaptive reuse type modern buildings. The results obtained through it can be summarized as follows: First, space contents are to activate the space by giving contents to it, and contents mean the property that can represent the contents of the space. Second, the strategy elements of space contents can be classified into design strategy elements and program strategy elements, and the design strategy elements included the detailed elements of differentiation design, SI design, space composition design, emotional design, eco-friendly design, complex space design and convenience design. The program strategy elements included the detailed elements of storytelling, experience program, event program, linkage program, and information program. Through this, the characteristics of the space contents could be investigated in terms of symbolism, identity, complexity, experience and linkage. Third, the space contents could be classified into the exhibition culture space content type, art creation space content type, and consumption-commercial space content type, and an analysis for a total of five Korean and foreign cases was conducted. Fourth, as a result of the analysis, while the characteristics of symbolism and complexity were revealed well in all cases, the characteristics of identity, experience and linkage were insufficient or did not exist in some cases. Therefore, for these characteristics, there was a need to develop the design and program strategies whose strategy elements are consistent and diversified to suit each space content type.
