The Analysis on the Status of the Hospital Sign design for the Aged Patients

abstract
Background The information disabled people is the people who has problems in obtaining information like the blind or the deaf in comparison with healthy people. Because a lot of information on the limited time should be aware at the hospital, careful consideration is needed for older people who has visual, auditory and perceptual impairments. In this study, we want to know the improvements about visual communication systems in hospital design in terms of senior services. Methods This study surveyed visual communication design(center of the sign design) in 9 local hospitals(2 General hospitals, 6 University hospitals, 1 Convalescent hospital) and 7 foreign hospitals with field research, literature search and internet search(case study of foreign countries) and analyzed comprehensive visual communications design system in order to review cases of hospital design in terms of senior services. Result First, the Space Planning must be put. Second, the elder consideration plan(location, size, height) must be active. Third, the color information plan(display) should be introduced with a blitz. As results of research, a Comparative hospital analysis of senior services was indicating the necessity of reforming its overall design business in terms of HXD( Healthcare eXperience Design). Conclusion Next senior services design in hospital, with smooth communication, should be able to promote differentiated and enhanced image. Effective senior services will do an opportunity to instill the sense of unity and stability, dignity and will play an important role to all users, as well as the aged.
