Formative Characteristics of the Bauhaus Weaving Workshop in Modern Fashion Design

abstract
Background In this research, the special style characteristics of the formative theories and the works of art of the meisters who had been active by centering on the Bauhaus Weaving Workshop were considered. And the research took place regarding how such special characteristics have been reinterpreted and expressed in the modern fashion designs. Method The artistic tendencies and the works of art materials of the meisters of the Bauhaus Weaving Workshop and the modern fashion designers were investigated and analyzed through the literature investigations and the Internet materials investigations. Results First, regarding the special work of art characteristics of the Bauhaus Weaving Workshop, the pure painting style was introduced to the textile designs. Second, there were the experimental attempts regarding the new matieres. Third, they were found in the grid forms. Fourth, the new designs were developed through the researches on the textiles and the patterns of Africa and Latin America. Fifth, with regard to the original form textile production for the mass production of the industry, the integration of the technologies and art were materialized. As a result of such tasks, the Bauhau textiles became more public gradually. Sixth, the original form textiles for use with the industry were designed so that they can have the very close relationship with the architecture, the textiles of which the function as an element of the indoor decoration has been emphasized were designed. Conclusion Such task performances of the Bauhaus Weaving Workshop became a source for the inspirations of the modern fashion designers who are thirsty for the new inspirations.
