ABSTRACT
Background Design Thinking has been adopted as a method of innovation within companies by influencing global 500 companies such as Siemens and P&G as a way to solve creative problems. Accordingly, China is also doing design thinking to foster innovative talent. However, it is difficult to grasp how design thinking is actually applied and implemented in China's educational status and its research status, so it is necessary to systematically review the detailed research status in the Chinese education field.
Methods A total of 53 papers were selected as research subjects as Chinese academic information support services. In addition, the network relationship between each thesis keyword was visualized, and the research year, research purpose, research method, research subject, and research subject of the literature were organized and analyzed. Then, the analysis results were discussed and opinions on the prospects of related fields were presented.
Result STEM is the node most correlated with design thinking, followed by maker education and curriculum design. Among the research objectives, the most common type is presentation. In other words, it is the presentation of educational theory and the presentation of direction. The most common research method is literature research, followed by experimental research and case studies. The subjects and subjects of the study were not specific.
Conclusion Design thinking is the most related to STEM-centered convergence education in the Chinese education field, but research on STEAM education fused with art is insufficient. Therefore, STEAM-centered convergence education should be attempted in the Chinese education field. In addition, the future research direction should be centered on design thinking-based education for elementary, middle, and high school students.

JEWNR 79(0) 149-161, 2023 |
ABSTRACT
Background Several studies have shown that architects and consumers have different preferences in appreciating the same architectural forms. Such differences in aesthetic awareness exist in other works of art but appear to be more pronounced in architectural forms because, unlike art forms with relatively small audiences, architecture is a product of mass aesthetic awareness consumption. These differences can have a more serious impact on the appreciators of architectural forms. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the reasons for such differences.
Methods This study first reanalyzes data from a survey of architects and consumers on architectural aesthetic preferences and identifies aesthetic differences between these two groups, primarily in the functionalist style of architecture. Second, the analysis of the educational system revealed that the geometric language of form, which has had a continuous influence on functionalism, may be one of the reasons for the differences in aesthetic awareness. Third, the ventral visual (HSF) pathway of the brain for stylistic processing was analyzed, and it was found that both the neostriatum associated with visual habits and the ventral striatum associated with reward mechanisms play a role in the stylistic process. Therefore, this study argues that the familiarity with the language of geometric shapes developed in the education of architects is one of the reasons for the differences in architectural aesthetics. Fourth, to establish this claim, a questionnaire experiment was conducted, and a correlation analysis of the results proved a significant correlation between familiarity with the language of geometric shapes and architectural aesthetic outcomes.
Result Based on the above analysis, one of the reasons for the difference between architects' and consumers' aesthetic awareness of functionalist architectural forms is the variability in familiarity with the language of geometric shape design in the educational process.
Conclusion This study argues that the geometric familiarity brought about through stylistic education affects the visual aesthetic awareness of architects. This geometry-based design education is not through recognition of the beautiful structures found but rather develops into a style that can be perceived as beautiful in its stylistic value. But this sense of beauty is perceptually differentiated by differences in people's experiences. Consumers form visual memories from everyday visual experiences and architects' visual memories from geometric modeling education. As a result of this learning, the architect's sense of beauty has a tendency to fail to meet the consumer's general sense of beauty.

ABSTRACT
Background As the population raising pets increases, the product market for pets has been expanding, and the culture has been changing. Pet-related products have many similarities with baby products in terms of types and characteristics, but are influenced by the 'Pet humanization' and 'Flex' culture and have differences from the general product market. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the pet product market considering this culture and to identify the main factors that determine the user's purchase according to the specific markets.
Methods This study was conducted by limiting the scope of the study to dog, which accounted for the highest proportion among pets. First, purchasing determinants were reviewed through prior research and literature research in the field of marketing. Second, 22 brands sold online were analyzed for market analysis of pet products. Third, FGI, in-depth interviews, and surveys were conducted for the major purchasing decision factors by products of pet and types of them.
Result First, The market was divided into five types, and products belonging to each type were presented. Second, We divided purchasing decision factors into subjective factors and product factors, and proposed purchasing decision factors by type and product. Function was an important factor in all types, and overall, product factors had more influence on purchase than subjective factors.
Conclusion First, it is important to set a clear functional concept in product design for pet. It was found that the most important determinant was improved usability in terms of price on function, dog adaptation, and safety. Second, there are purchase decision factors that are considered important for a specific product type. In the design process, more accurate purchase decision factors for each product and specific pain points for each product should be presented.

ABSTRACT
Background Public facilities in city parks are mostly public facilities that are not suitable for the socially weak, such as the elderly because they use prefabricated public facilities. In addition, when designing an urban park, the characteristics of park users are not investigated in advance, and the design is carried out unilaterally from the perspective of the government/concessionaire. The method of public facilities should be conducted through an opinion survey of actual users of urban parks. Therefore, unlike other studies, this study mixes qualitative and quantitative research to analyze users' perceptions of public facilities in the park and propose detailed improvement plans.
Methods First, we derive the problem variables for each public facility through the responses from the field. After creating questions using the derived variables, proceed with IDI (In-depth interview). Second, creates a questionnaire by extracting keywords from the responses obtained after IDI. Then, after distributing the questionnaire, we will grasp which public facilities are vulnerable through statistical analysis.
Result We have completed the grasp of preferences for each public facility in Gwangju Metropolitan City Linear Park. In addition, it was found that design preferences for public facilities in linear parks differed according to demographic characteristics.

JEWNR 79(0) 199-212, 2023 |
ABSTRACT
Background The design of delivery food packaging entails a multitude of challenges. These include concerns surrounding food contamination and damage, thermal fluctuations, as well as accessibility issues. Consequently, by conducting a thorough analysis of the packaging's design, we propose enhancements aimed at optimizing the end-user's experience.
Methods The present study employs video ethnography as a means of analyzing the merits and demerits of delivery food packaging design. To further augment the accuracy of participant responses, we employed Zoom and verified the veracity of their answers. Moreover, we conducted a questionnaire survey that drew upon variables related to package design.
Result Fifteen variables were extracted from the qualitative study. Specifically, the French fry packaging design of Mamstarch was identified as the most significant drawback, whereas the hamburger packaging design of Lotteria was confirmed to be optimal. This finding aligns with the results of prior quantitative research.
Conclusion It was established that Mom's Touch brand should utilise graphic design to clearly convey the type of beverage contained within the packaging. Additionally, it was recommended to minimise margins to prevent damage to food during the delivery process. In the case of Lotteria, the hamburger packaging material was determined to be susceptible to contamination. Furthermore, it was observed that a monochromatic colour scheme was inadequate in arousing appetite. Consequently, the optimisation of the consumer experience through improved delivery food packaging design is envisaged. However, the study is limited by its small sample size, thereby constraining its generalizability. Future research directions could involve comparative analyses of delivery food packaging design across multiple brands to identify avenues for improvement and elicit consumer perception more accurately.

ABSTRACT
Background Personal color is gaining enthusiastic popularity in the beauty industry. Abundant research has proven various aspects of the theory, yet in-depth study for the group with dissatisfaction toward their personal color stays lacking. This research aims to provide a theoretical basis of the MZ generation’s dissatisfaction regarding diagnosed personal color by unearthing their fundamental behavioral and psychological responses. Thorough investigation of the overlooked users and discovery of their hidden needs may contribute to the intellectual and academic proliferation of personal color field as well as potential consumer insight and practical ideation, which can lead to future design thinking, marketing, and product planning strategies.
Methods This study conducted an exploratory survey to investigate the background information of the dissatisfied and qualitatively conducted 1:1 in-depth interviews to retrieve data regarding dissatisfaction toward diagnosed personal color and following behaviors and perceptions.
Results For the basis of dissatisfaction, four major reasons have been discovered as internal causes implying identity problem, external causes implying social restrictions, trend issues, and difficult chromatic characteristics. On top of these dissatisfaction factors, the MZ generation acted out either neglecting or compromising behavior toward their given personal color diagnosis. And, keeping track of their thoughts and feelings, they are revealed to undergo several types of negative psychological responses classified to discomfort and distrust.
Conclusion The results of this research convey holistic implications about the MZ generation’s internal conflict between ideal self-image and actual self-image, which has been expressed through the process of searching identity in form of personal color. Capturing their fundamental conflict factors, this study theoretically and qualitatively explored the previously undiscovered group and found background basis of design and marketing strategies, which can address the potential consumers in the beauty and personal color industry.
