ABSTRACT
This study suggests `Meaning Field` based on Unison and Basic Plane concept by Wassily Kandinsky, and interprets the relation between text hierarchy and word-space.
People have been according hierarchy to elements, upon the needs and context, using space. According hierarchy using space is equally applied in text, i.e., hierarchy via word-space.
I interpreted word-space, which signifies the hierarchy, in the concept of `Meaning Field`. As a word is higher in hierarchy, its Unison(the Meaning Field) becomes larger. This Meaning Field affects the overall text composition, resulting a change in word-space.
In this research, the vague thesis of typography affecting text meaning was not repeated. Rather, interpretation unit for typography was suggested, and minutely described the relation between text meaning and composition.

ABSTRACT
This study seeks to analyze how the changes of living space and value systems in accordance with sociocultural changes would influence the kitchen design. Firstly through the literature analysis, it identified the changes of housing space by dividing lifestyle culture into four categories: views on family, views on occupation, views on housing, and views on life. Based on this category, this paper interprets the changes in kitchen design. Firstly, the kitchen design changed into an open style that integrated the kitchen and the living room on the same level. The arrangement of the kitchen that allows users to face the living room while working in the kitchen reflects the changing social values. The second point in kitchen design change is that many changes in the kitchen design reflected the new view on family that facilitated the communication within the family. Also, many among these changes also agreed with the new view on occupation with the large-scale storage space and the rationalized work-flow. The changes by the new view on housing were diversified materials. Finally, the changes by the new lifestyle expressed in the leisurely kitchen design for reading. Accordingly, the elements like family centered and leisurely kitchen would not be just necessary but prerequisite conditions Therefore, these can hard to become a new direction for kitchen design any more. Instead, the paper proposes the bold application of the less utilized design concepts for the aged, the single, the children, and the Green kitchen.

ABSTRACT
To develop the perfection of typography of vehicle license plate which is one of the factor to construct our visual public environment, among the current license plates, `1973-2003 year`s license plate(the province name is written, white on green, two lines)`, `2004 year`s license plate(the province name is omitted, white on green, two lines)`, `2006 year`s license plate(the province name is omitted, black on white, one line)` have examined centrally. Firstly, arranging pattern and space composition of license plate have examined. Secondly, shapes of Korean and number have examined. Lastly, space between the word letters.
As a result, `2004 year`s license plate` has transformed the space in word letter, and aesthetic aspect of word letter has rather declined. Since a margin of the `registered number` has narrowed, the plate becomes difficult to decode and has error in decode. The `2004 year`s license plate` has poorly readable typography. The `2006 year`s license plate` has made sure to have a margin of the `registered number` to higher decode, and has added serif in `number 1` to prevent the confusion with `Korean ㅣ`. However, compacted writing of Korean region in rectangular frame has declined assessment. Lastly, the space of word letter between the `registered number` has discovered to be inconstant which is in need of detailed adjustment.
Thus, to develop the perfection of typography of license plate, 1) the space and the margin of the word letter should be in harmony with each other, 2) the distinction for shape of Korean needs to be improved, and 3) the number should be made based on constant space between word letter, no way to misleading, and difficulty of falsification. Furthermore, continuous study on the improvement of typography to develop of number and Korean fonts used for the license plate is inevitable.
