A Study on the Types of Urban Parks for the Formation of Placeness - Focus on Place Asset Classification and Utilization method -

ABSTRACT
As our society is oriented towards globalism and localization, the value of diversity is becoming more important and there is competition centering on cities. So, the competitive powers of cities have become more important and each city needs to create its own differentiated image using its history and culture as resources.
One such differentiation strategy is the make-up of urban parks as urban parks can work as a media in a pleasant life to create a local image for local people. However, current urban parks only focus on theme classification systems and necessary facilities as specified in the regulations. They do not consider the context of place or the assets of each area.
Therefore, this study analysed the assets of place based on factors of placeness in urban parks and the results are presented as follows:
First, in terms of the placeness in urban parks, the themes of parks were decided on according to the characteristics of the local assets. The assets are those which were analysed from a contextual point of view such as the topography, the behavior of users, and semantic factors.
Second, according to the classifications of local assets and their application methods, the types of urban parks were classified.
For ecological natural assets, methods of preservation and development were mainly used and the types were categorized into those that develop ecological natural assets and those that preserve traditional historic assets. For the traditional historic assets, a regenerative method to preserve their meaning or to form new meaning through reuse was used, and the resulting types were categorized as the preservation type and the regeneration type. For cultural and artistic assets, experimental programs or facility development were mainly used and there was a type of development for cultural and artistic assets. It is suggested that these could be useful as classification systems which can show the characteristics of places according to their purpose in the make-up of urban cities.

The Style Characteristics and Type Classification of Modern Furniture Design

ABSTRACT
This study is to analysis the stylistic characteristics and classify the furniture design considering modern changes of furniture while the residential space is modernized. The scope of this study show the modern characteristics of Korean furniture design and arrange systematically the modern style. The target of this study focused on the cabinet for residential space in Japanese colonial period that modern living space has been established. The results of this study are as follows.
First, as the residential space is modernized, furniture was re-arranged depending on the function of each room and changed to enhance the efficiency of storage and divided into dual category, sitting furniture and Western Style furniture as stand-up space generated.
Second, modern furniture design can be classified into 2 types, improved Korean style, compromised model of Japanese/Western type.
Third, stylistic characteristics of these 2 types are as follows. The improved Korean style was modified by improving space application and cabinet function while keeping the basic type of traditional furniture. The compromised model of Japan/Westen was a mixed form blending the basic type and the pattern of foreign furniture, and it was the basic structure of modern furniture. Based on western style furniture, type compromised furniture improved in Japan was typical.
Fourth, the modern furniture as a new stream was introduced from Japan and some functional formative concept and a production method of standardization was partly started introducing.

ABSTRACT
Brand character plays the role of an important brand identity that brings out the promotion of the particular brand or product. Thus, the purpose of this research was to determine to what extent the visual information of the brand characters delivers the brand image to the customers and what kind of effective promotion conditions are used so that the customers are able to acknowledge such visual information. The research was conducted by focusing on “Ttoro” of Kumho Tire, a domestic tire brand character and “Monsieur Bibendum” of Michelin, a foreign tire brand character. In addition, for a morphological information analysis, an analysis methodology of using morphological recognition theory was utilized to research the visual information of brand characters and the cognitive morphology. Also, to verify the usefulness, a survey based on morphology information was executed to analyze the usefulness of the brand characters. This proves that the visual information shown in the morphology analysis of the overall brand character is changing in line with the changes of the era and that the changes of consumer awareness and common ground too are followed by the image that influences the brand and the product. In this research, the positive effects of the consumer`s brand image are expected to be verified through morphological recognition and the importance of the brand characters would be highlighted.

ABSTRACT
Because of be said to is being the Blemish Balm, the BB cream was the product which is made in order to calm down and protect the skin receiving impetus on after the skin surgical operation including the peeling or filling, and etc. However, while the various function including the complexion correction, anti-ultraviolet, and etc. was merged since the face and spirit makeup which it seems to be young became the topic, it was gradually generalized.
In many consumption and new product in floods, since the cause for the skin trouble is expected due to the information delivery which is wrong that BBcream is the actual condition without the formal standard classified in the classfication of the cosmetics and the consumer as to this, chooses the exact choice, the necessity to the object of this research checks the BB cream is raised. The skin recognition according to this tries to be helpful to the cosmetics development direction guidance efficient, basic data and research based on the research that it looks into the recognition of the BB cream according to the makeup concern degree and makeup concern degree and BB cream propensity to consume.
The method of study looks into the demographic characteristic of the research subject and analyze about the BBcream consumption characteristic whether it is the makeup concern degree and BB cream according to the makeup concern degree whether it is the skin or not or not.
Directly the researcher collected. And collected analysis of data were verified in the significance level 5%. And by using the statistic processing SPSSWIN 18.0 program, they analyze.
In the result described in the above, the concern degree of the makeup has an effect on the consumption characteristic of the BB cream, that is, the reality of usage and purchasing behavior and can be reflected in the various effect of the makeup according to this and method suggestions.

The Copyright of Photographic Portrait and Requirements as a Work

ABSTRACT
Copyright means exclusive right given to copyright holder so as to protect works which are expressed creatively through the human`s thought or emotion. The purpose of work protection is ultimately social contribution by protection and application of creative work through the protection of copyright holder.
Photographic works are also protected by author`s moral right and author`s property right like other works. There are several fields such as pureness, fashion, advertisement, coverage, portrait, etc. in photos and each association is seeking several measures for the protection of copyright through the voluntary research and public hearing. But, coverage photo, fashion, portrait, etc. show more complicated aspect by combining the problem of portrait rights unlike general photos. Fashion photos show relatively less possibilities of portrait right problem by the previous contract with models, but coverage photos are shot for unspecific majority. So, there are more frequent conflicts. However, there isn`t a big proportion as much as the range of law for non-entrusted photography is regulated by civil law because of the social atmosphere respecting people`s right to know rather than portrait rights generally for the coverage photographies.
However, in general studios shooting portraits, portraits by entrustment are mainly shot and portraits by entrustment are applied by copyright law which is applied by civil law and criminal law, so it has strict limitations for portrait rights` violation. For portraits shot in general studio, the court made a judgement that they cannot be considered as works because they have practical photos. (Kwon Taeksoo, 2001)In other words, they are photographies same as reproductive shooting, so cannot be considered as results by photographer`s intellectual activity. For portraits which cannot be recognized as works, photographer cannot be obtain any right, but must assume criminal responsibilities for portrait rights. In conclusion, the judgement reduces photographer`s desire to create and makes a bad effect on the development of portraits. And, photographer can neglect the management of files.
As the purpose of photo invention was portraits, they are certainly the most important part for photographers and important sector for exploring human. In the era of digital, development of internet, duplicating technology and communication deepens conflicts for photo`s duplication and portrait rights.
This thesis suggests the necessity of rational guideline so as to conflicts between for portrait`s creative development and social contribution.

Knitwear Design of Domino-knitting Stitch Using Mondrian`s Neo Plastic Characteristics

ABSTRACT
The purpose of study is to establish by reviewing the technique of domino-knitting stitch for knitwear design based on Mondrian`s Neo Plastic characteristics in order to establish the possible development of creative design and expand domain of expression of knitwear through domino-knitting stitch. To achieve this, 1st, to consider the Neo Plastic characteristics based on the horizontal line & vertical line and the three primary color & three achromatic color, and the concept of Domino-knitting stitch. 2nd, to present knitwear design works recreating motive derived from Mondrian`s paintings based on color contrast and division of face. Work I is the net bag knitted by domino-knitting stitch using motive derived Mondrian`s `Red Tree`. Work II is the H-line one-piece knitted by a mix of garter stitch and domino-knitting stitch using motive derived Mondrian`s `Composition with Red, Blue and Yellow` and reinterpreting Mondrian look. Work III is the H-line one-piece knitted by a mix of garter stitch and domino-knitting stitch using motive derived Mondrian`s `Composition with Red and Black` and `Lorenge composition with Red, Black, Blue and Yellow` and reinterpreting PRADA`s Mondrian look. Consequently, it is to reinterpret to add technique of domino-knitting stitch to various knitwear design.

A Study on Consumer Attitude by Package Design Color and Graphic Image - Focused on laundry detergent-

ABSTRACT
This study aims to examine the difference in purchase preference by package design color and graphic image in the dimension of consumer`s general and environment-friendly attitude and purchase intention. To achieve the objective, this study sorted laundry detergents by color and graphic image (presence or non-presence) into 4 types of stimuli of laundry detergent package for empirical study. The key findings of the study are as follows. First, it turned out that green color and the presence of graphic image played an important role for the purchase intention of consumers who think of the package color as important factor. Second, the study showed that that the package without graphic image played an important role, regardless of color, for the purchase intention of consumers who think of the presence of graphic image as important factor. Third, it turned out that color preference to environment-friendly laundry detergent packaged varied by age group. These findings are expected to provide both theoretical and practical insights in industries related to environment-friendly laundry detergent and also to be used as a useful base data to establish a strategy of to environment-friendly laundry detergent in future.

ABSTRACT
Due to the skyrocketing fast fashion industry, consumers have shown behaviors that are far from sustainability, which is the megatrend of 21st century, such as overconsuming and rapidly disposing clothes. Consequently, amount of disposed clothes has excessively increased and led to global pollution like landfill. In this study, in order to recognize the severity and solve problems associated with landfill issues, we seek ways to activate recycling fashion industry, reusing and recycling without generating waste. The scope of the research included reuse and recycle fashion that are on disposal stage of the life cycle of clothes (excluded down-cycling). In-depth interview, targeting the interested parties who work in reuse and recycle fashion industry, was conducted for a research method and through the interview, revealing the characteristics of reuse and recycle fashion industry. As a result, seven characteristics were found and the contents are: `only and unique design,` `hand-made low production quantity,` `ease of procurement of raw materials,` `design-oriented customer group,` `environment-oriented customer group,` `delivery of accurate information,` and `maximization of the use of SNS and images.` Lastly, thought-provoking points, based on the results, were discussed.

ABSTRACT
A hairpiece is a partial wig and it has been used for make-up, decoration, expression of dignity, stages, entertainment, ceremonies, and certain occupations such as judges for a long time. It usually does not mean real hair but fake hair that is put on real hair to hide hair or to do make-up and decoration.
Wigs are used for personal choices to hide hereditary hair loss and severely damaged hair, for medical choices and diseases in hair, and for other health-related reasons to cover abnormal hair loss. They are also used for fashion-related choices to change hair styles frequently, to decorate hair on special occasions, and for practical choices to facilitate to change hair styles. That is, they are used when it is difficult to change hair styles due to constraints of time and money.
As a hairpiece is defined as braided hair to make short hair look longer or to create accessorial effects with another shape and color in Korean dictionary on Naver, it has been used as an effective accessory to supplement a hair style to make insufficient hair look rich. Its market is expanded from the hair loss market to the partial wig market since it creates a natural hair style as natural hair. Its materials include not only human hair but synthetic fiber which creates diverse colors. As these materials are lightweight and they are cheaper than human hair, wigs are developed and fabricated to be used easily. We intend to fabricate hair pins by utilizing hairpieces for those who could not use weighty hairpins due to their less dense hair and thin hair as a part of diverse hair style changes.
Diverse hairpieces which have been fabricated and sold include braided hairbands, wired hairbands, wavy or straight hairpins, and hair clips. With dyed human hair, beautiful flower shapes are made to fabricate ornamental hairpins. Research has been constantly conducted by utilizing diverse colors and beautiful flowers as materials for hair accessories.
Thus, we aim to fabricate hairpins with the image of beautiful flowers by utilizing hairpieces to hairpins which can be easily put on.

The Perceptions of U. S. Fashion Industry Professionals` on Fashion Design Copyright Law and Creativity in Fashion Product Development Process

ABSTRACT
This study aimed at examining the U. S. fashion professionals` perception of the effectiveness of Innovative Design Protection Act, the bill introduced to the U. S. congress in 2012, in order to obtain implications to Korean fashion intellectual property protection.
For this purpose, nine professionals who are working in the fashion industry in Seattle and vicinity areas were interviewed. Through the interviews, we asked their opinions about the meanings of creativity in fashion product development; the difference between line-to-line copy and interpretation; the ethical issues related to referencing others` design; and their perception of fashion design copyright law.
In general, the interviewees considered the activities such as alterating the details or fit of a successful design customized to their target market as a part of creativity in fashion product development. And their perception of fashion copyright issues reflected more economic or practical perspectives rather than ethical perspectives.
