A city, in which is contained the lives of its people, is an evolving organism. This means that urban design is a constantly evolving series of processes as well. The 21st century is the urban century-the century of the city. Competition between cities is becoming more and more fierce and prominent cities are turning to urban design as a way of gaining competitive power, boosting the quality of life of their citizens and creating innovative economic advantages through making themselves more attractive. Urban Design is a science which exists to create positive life experiences for those who dwell in cities. It is based on Experience drawn from the past and used to innovate solutions for tomorrow. Thanks to the wisdom gained through past experience we can integrate modern knowledge with that experience to create a new 3rd perspective on Urban Design. Urban Design isn`t just about shaping buildings, but about shaping societies and producing psychological responses from the people who dwell within physical urban environments. This new 3rd perspective makes cities livable by enabling citizens to communicate intrinsically with the urban environment around them. This research paper attempts to analyze the urban design projects going on in prominent world cities and extract key trends which can be applied to urban design policies.

It is believed that dynamic interfaces provide users with positive experiences, and applying them into user interface design becomes common in industry. With this belief, the authors of this paper conducted an experiment and published its results in a journal. The results showed that usability of dynamic interfaces are not always better than that of static interfaces, and the authors assumed that such results were because of characteristics of the experiment participants who were 20`s and 30`s generations. The authors of this paper conducted a new experiment and this paper describes its results comparing with the results of previous experiment. The method of new experiments was exactly same to that of previous experiment except the characteristics of experiment participants. The participants in this experiment were 10`s generation and it was believed that their first mobile phone experiences started after dynamic interface was implemented in mobile phone UI.

In the contemporary fashion, historical fusion merging the historical styles with new technology and uniqueness became one of the major trends. Many contemporary fashion designers have referred to the costume history and mixed historical styles with the contemporary fashion. In this study, the designs showing historical references in the contemporary fashion were analyzed by details to provide the fresh ideas for designing creative fashions and to propose the desirable approach toward studying the costume history. First of all, historicism in the post-modern architecture and fashion were examined to find out the background of appropriation of historical details in the contemporary fashion, Since the history has come closer in everyday life especially in fashion and architecture in the post-modern culture. And the fashion and the architecture are akin to the human as a micro and macro environment surrounding us. And the examples of the appropriation of historical details in the contemporary fashion were analyzed by constructive details. In the contemporary fashion, historical details have been reworked with advanced technology and materials, exaggerated, and reconstructed in the mix & match with the contemporary outfits. In other words, the ways of appropriation of historical details could be explained as transformation, exaggeration, and reconstruction. In conclusion, historical details are the greatest inferences to invent the creative fashion designs. And studying costume history should not been overlooked since this can offer great inspirations to the contemporary designers interested in historical styles and trying to develop them into more creative fashion designs.

The internet has been getting attention as a new form of media for publicity of the company and which expresses the scale of corporate value. Corporate integrated web site has the strongest advantage of being able to expose corporate information and value to customers on a real time basis. Also in terms of having distinctive corporate outlook from competitors and being able to compare corporate values, corporations are concentrated on distinctive, innovative and effective web site. The superficial aspect of early corporate internet web sites had simply placed significance on exposing corporate image and identity. But the corporate web sites are being packaged over and over in a spectacular way from the continuous development, new expression technique, visual effect and application of programming algorithm. The design of web site must be able to induce a little more systematic communication in this sense. In order to do so, an analysis of designing standpoint is necessary on how the web design visual factor necessary in making the style in terms of web site design and each expression method are communicated to users. It is necessary to derive the style concept for optimum web site design by presenting a peculiar design which can secure the identity of each corporation and be reflected again on future web site renewal by classifying design factors forming the web site as Graphic Image, Layout & Grid, Typeface, Color System and Technical Factor and classifying detailed factors organizing each factor once again while actively applying these things in the design.

Digital environment forming today`s media has produced the communication structure of producer like consumers not only in our daily life but also in society, culture and arts. This trend has resulted in the transformation of Web media into the medium of `education` which is the most influential on the life of the Web 2.0 generation, who is the multimedia generation. In particular, web-based digital communication structure using the digital media environment has played certain roles in narrowing communication gaps in the disabled`s arts, culture and social participation. Such environment has invigorated active social participation of underprivileged class and brisk artistic culture , and restructured the new relations among producers, consumers and distributors. What kinds of knowledge, creativity, literal abilities and personality are required to the disabled in order to deal with information and images produced and consumed in digital media environment at present? In the media communication structure centering on informative communication, social demands of the disable haven`t been conveyed by poor environment. Thought practical participation activities of the disabled have not been enough yet, the disabled`s communication-building should be pursued the literacy ability through education, which is a way of the visual language Now, what is the important thing is awakening consciousness and responsibility for the disabled`s communication activities. Based on it, we need to judge and select information in a balanced way for more conscious and rational sharing of media-based communication. Accordingly, it is necessary to refer the disabled to media continuously and to raise the necessity of photo literacy in the discussion for the prospects of culture.

Today Internet has become an integral part of our daily life. The various web icons that we can see on the Internet convey information as a visual language that can affect the behavior of the users who are exposed to the information. Icons are widely used as a means of communication on the Web since they are perceived more easily than text messages by the users. Icons have been used more widelyand have been evolved due to the popularization of Internet regardless of sex or age. An Icon is one of the Symbols. Semiotics is associated with communications and other fields that deal with `the delivery of the meanings`. The purpose of this study is to investigate the trend of Web Icons in Korea, and to analyze the issues related to the improvement of Icon designby reviewing the concept of Icons and by an analysis of the different types of Icons. The Icons analyzed in this study were the Grand Prize Winners of Web Award Korea.

There are many patterns of needleworks, for instance, embroidery and patching designs, that are used in common practice such on clothes. Today, innumerable needlework has been expanded its definition by applying on a piece of paper, canvas, fabric, and vinyl that allows modern artists` extend their innovative creations. This paper analyzes on how to express one`s feelings through needleworks by reflecting on art works by two feminist artists Kim Soo-Ja and Annette Messager. This paper is concentrated on observing needlework being not only as a piece of art work but also being used as self-healing factors in Louise Bourgeois`s art works. As she mentioned, needlework is a symbol of "healing", the needle is not just a matter of "restoration". But also it is used as a messenger that links the past and the presence, thus, needle is a symbolic tool to convey hope. One of the greatest artists today, Louise Bourgeois, defines art as `My psychological healing process`. In another words, art is the power of self-healing with support of catharsis and self awareness that reflects on one`s life. In sum, people start to recognize the importance of creative art programs in art therapy. However, due to lack of researches on self-healing factors in artists` art work process, the further studies are ultimately necessary.
