ABSTRACT
The robot confronts to the labor power it will be able to substitute the human being it fades from it is supplicating, also ambiguous interface design is becoming the place stumbling block where the user controls the robot in the home robot. There is to control the robot through the concept of agent is necessary to task the accomplishment and lead multi-useful movements field from each agents dispersion will be able to execute with, in order for controlling operation is arraying classification of functions now. However, design process of robot interface is very important part which is development of the present robot condition including different cyberspace, it increases widely from the visual sense to the hearing sense and touching sense. The user seems to be more than being active which demands in time interface of the robot like that becomes the effective display. There will be but to a design of robot interface and it will overlook the fact that it will not become with cyberspace differently until hearing sense is widening the scope of the existence controlling display of the robot. There is to a technique of present time and to own activity of the robot is demanding the visual interface due to useless control a hearing sense and touching sense is complicated from used the control which is advanced more there is an effective possibility. Namely currently the hearing which is unnecessary becomes the display in time interface of the robot, the hearing information will separate, there is a necessity must be minimized. Also from the situation where the function public opinion majority programs which are coming to be demanded are linked with the Internet. The design percentage necessity comes to be few, by the robot of strongly new interface likes this functions is. The future interface of the next robot is to control of the robot in related to the information which are complicated in the menu for gearing with the Internet, combines the service menu which leads with, to see the possibility poly valence of going easily in order to be to the user, becoming design user friendly characteristic is desirable.

Turning the 21st century, science and technology are making another leap and impelling cultural reforms. In particular, NBIT convergence, a keyword in the 21st century, is considered to have infinite potential for growth in that it promises the emergence of unprecedented new technologies through the fusion of IT (information technology), BT (bio-technology) and NT (nano-technology) based on their industrial basis and immeasurable marketability. The convergence of these technologies also, interacting with culture and art, forecasts the rise of biological and organic intelligent media distinguished from traditional lifeless and immaterial media and these media will bring changes in every area of the society. Thus, the present study purposed to examine the remarkable characteristics of these technologies, to illuminate the trend of convergence in each technology, and to analyze the effects of these technologies on culture and art.

ABSTRACT
Although everybody knows the necessity of exercise, many people does not exercise regularly. Especially, citizen of modern society moves according to fixed social life program so the opportunity that they can contact nature reduces and the development of transporting device causes the lack of citizen`s exercise. The lack of citizen`s exercise is directed to their health so many people got interest in easy health sports and this social phenomenon caused the enlargement of indoor sports facility and expansion of the base. Health sports has the merit that it enables people to get the desired amount of exercise without time and space restriction when it is compared to other sports. However, it has the demerit that it is impossible to feel reality and people may lose interest easily because it is boring due to the repetition of simple motion. The study is intended to solve these problems. In order to provide existing running machine with virtual environment as the method to overcome the limit of running machine that is the type of restricted simple physical strength reinforcement, the study tried to develop and research the virtual system for providing indoor exercise facility for training physical strength with visual, tactile and olfactory reality by combining virtual reality technology and running machine organically.

ABSTRACT
In the modern industrial society, it can be said that as the digitalization, information, and high speed have accelerated the development of the high-tech IT industry, the phenomena such as individualization and aging have opened a way to the human and environment oriented thoughts. Especially, in accordance with the aging society, the products and environments which imply care for the social or physical weak are increasing, along with the development of the silver industry including health care. Such trend is an ideal ground for the implementation of the idea of the universal design which can be defined as the designs for all the people`s convenience. Among the medical equipment product group, portable equipments whose users are general unspecified patients have been undergoing diverse design improvements, while some small and medium scale equipments are still focusing on their functionalities due to the inappropriateness of mass production in the domestic environment of medical services. The Urine meter pump is one of those special medical equipments of which demand is not significant, in spite of their characteristics that they are small and utilized by patients, nurses and doctors. In this study, the design elements including usability, safety, operability, and productivity were derived by analyzing the design conditions of Urine meter pumps in the context of the universal design idea. For the productivity, silicon vacuum molding method was applied instead of conventional injection molding for mass production, in order to achieve cost reduction and quality improvement.

ABSTRACT
Recently, the importance of environmentally friendly sustainable design and environment is more influencing the image of a region and activation of local economy together with the concept of city marketing. Accordingly, we are confronted with reality in which we should pay attention to environmental issues more seriously and seek solutions. The most important consideration in sustainable environment design as one of change elements of culture is that we should reflect relationship among people, and social and cultural characteristics generated from it based on analyzing commonness and limit of `human being`. In addition, based on a perception that indiscreet color planning should be dealt from the viewpoint of `locality of color`, local color changes according to environmental elements of the region. Therefore, surrounding environment of the region should be analyzed thoroughly prior to color planning. If a system regarding color planning is established on the basis of this, color environment of city promoting locality can be made. As an example of this, the study considered establishing sustainable color environment through design suggestion and color coordination through outdoor advertizing material improvement project in Gangnam-gu executed under the slogan of "Global City".

The Relationship of Self-Esteem to the Communication Effect of Envy-Provoking Ads

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to examine how the psychological characteristics of envy and self-esteem affected the effects of envy-provoking ads, as the ultimate goal of advertisement could be said to persuade consumers to buy the target product and envy might be one of the psychological factors to stimulate their purchase intention. In the first stage, a survey was conducted to identify the psychological characteristics and factors of envy. Eight factors were found to make people envious, which included threat, needs for development, under- estimation, inferiority complex, envy and comfort. In the second stage, an experiment was implemented on four groups by using 2x2 factor design to look for connections between self-esteem and the effects of envy-provoking ads. The findings of the study were as follows: First, regarding brand recall rate, envy-provoking ads produced better results the other type of ads that had nothing to do with envy. Second, as for cognitive response, the four groups investigated showed more favorable cognitive response to envy-provoking ads than to the other type of ads. Third, there`s no significant gap between the two types of ads in their effect on advertisement attitude and purchase attention. The above-mentioned findings suggested that envy-provoking ads had better effects on brand recall and cognitive response, and this fact indicated that envy-provoking ad strategy was effective in cognitive stage, which could be defined as the first stage of purchase. This finding was very worthwhile, as cognition affects attitude, which in turn, impacts on purchase.

A Study on the Text Analysis of Signification in TV-CM - Focused on Negative Appeal Anti-Smoking Advertising -

ABSTRACT
Various appeals are used to get effects from consumers in advertising, and negative appeal is frequently used in anti-smoking advertising. This is a study of the methods by which negative appeal anti-smoking in TV-CM creates meaning and implies public ideology based on semiotics analysis. Besides, a study of the methods was made that public service advertising creates meaning and implies public ideology, contrary to the established study on commercial advertising analyzed consumption ideology of capitalism. The theoretical background of the study is 2-Step signification model based on Mythologize of Barthes, and the methods of the study is application of the five analysis used in film analysis by Christian Metz. As a result of analysis, negative appeal anti-smoking advertising implies mythology and ideology of our society through emotional audiovisual indication system at the expressing contents and forms. Major communication ideology is patriarchal ideology and authoritarian public ideology. The former is shown through beauty for beauty`s sake, filial piety ideology, self-sacrificing devotion, and the latter is shown as exaggerated threatening to physical and social relationship such as fear, guilty, shame caused by smoking.

ABSTRACT
Orientalism has been one of the key cyclical trends in the western culture and art for a long time. Interestingly, Orientalism, somewhat mysterious and nature-friendly is re-highlighted as a leading trend for the 21st century because of limitations resulting from uniformity of the late 20th century`s industrial society and anxiety over uncertainty of the future. This thesis focuses on identifying the possibilities of Korean style jewelry design by investigating Orientalism expressed in the works of Cartier that has been highly interested in the East from the early 20th century. In the early 20th century, Cartier mainly adopted Chinese motives or colors directly for its works. However, recent works with new Orientalism have been introduced through the recreation of Chinese motives for modernity. Skillful combination of traditional Eastern factors with Western aesthetic shows the trend of pluralism and eclecticism. In order for Korean jewelry to have wider publicity in the world market, we have to develop universal designs, appealing to global customers as well as maintaining Korean style. With the surge of Orientalism, many world famous jewelry designers get the key ideas through Chinese and Japanese motives and leverage them for marketing factors. At this point of time, the development of Korean style jewelry not by western designers but by Korean designers can create unknown images appealing successfully to world jewelry market.

ABSTRACT
The advertisement has become the important culture rule since the end of 20th century. It is one of the trends of communication. Moreover, the ideas about the subjects or services consumed by the people in the capitalistic society are formatted and intermediated through the advertisement. Related with the mass media and the development of cultural aspect, there is a big revolution. The advertisement that was based on only language and text has been changed to modern style focusing on images gradually. In other words, since the end of 20th century, the advertisement has depended upon the visual forms more and more. In the modern advertisement, the visual trend of communication is being expanded. Otherwise, it creates the visual attractiveness and effects in the advertisement industry through the technology embodying new digital images. On naked eye, the imaginary simulation is created by the perfect image composite procedure. The systemized study and scientific analysis about the visual advertisement have not been occurred yet, however the effect of visual advertisement is so powerful. The visual trend of advertisement can provide enjoyment and curiosity to the potential consumers with low expense as compared with old trend. Also, it causes the effect of oral rumor. Therefore, the hypothetical advertisement in virtual reality will create new stage of visual clarification and effects of attractiveness with the new digital visual technique.
