Change of Clothing Shape Depending on the amount of Shirring using a 3D Virtual Wear System

ABSTRACT
Background The neckline is an important part of determining the impression of the face, and this study focuses on the neckline as a variable that can change the silhouette and shape of clothes. Fashion designers create creative designs by creating new clothes that have never been before with novel ideas or by transforming and applying traditional techniques.
Methods A variation of the amount of shearing of the neckline was dimensioned and applied with a 3D virtual wearing system to attempt 4 steps of deformation.
Result it was founded that the increase in the amount of shearing of the neckline is a variable that affects the shape of the clothes, the silhouette and the closeness of the clothes to the human body. In addition, the silhouette of the garment became a loose silhouette from the fit to the A line, and the inside of the garment was formed with the drape extending toward the chest and sleeves, and the inner line was formed.
Conclusion This study studied the apparel composition to apply the shirring technique to the neckline and use it as a creative fashion design, and the research method utilized the CLO Virtual Fashion program to realize the 3D dressing system.

Expansion and Evolution of Design Roles according to Level of Technology Innovation and Human Needs

ABSTRACT
Background The design that began with the Industrial Revolution has developed by connecting technological innovation with human beings. It is said that the 4th Industrial Revolution will have a great impact on the future society, and there are many discussions about the role of industrial design. Therefore, it is very important to find the meaning of design and redefine the role of design as a mediator between technology and human beings.
Methods This study examined the theory of technology, human, and design change process through literature, and grasped the connection relationship between them. Based on this, the research proposed a design role model for each stage of change and applied design examples to the model, explaining the expansion and evolution of industrial design roles.
Result Through the analysis of the case, it was found that the perspective and object of design expanded as the technology and human needs stages advanced to the higher stages. The role of design has evolved from focusing on aesthetic creations and usability to pursuing new meanings and experiences, and furthermore as the meaning of technology evolves and higher human needs to be fulfilled, it can be seen that design evolves in the direction of creating a new typology.
Conclusion The meaning of this study is to provide a new model through technology-design-human multidimensional approach and analysis, and to explore the relationship between them and the direction of industrial design through case analysis. Through the research, it can be seen that the higher the level, the less the product occupies the initial market, but design leads to radical innovation, increasing influence on society and human beings, and expanding meaning of design. If quantitative research is complemented by continuous exploration and study on the role and direction of design, it is expected that it will provide new insights into the future role of industrial design.

Education Plan of Design Thinking Process - Focusing on the empathy stage -

ABSTRACT
Background ‘Design Thinking Process' of education consists five stages: Empathy, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. In this study, we figured problems out while doing 'Design thinking process' in the class and tried to propose a way to solve these problems. Especially, we focused on 'Empathy' part which is the most important part for 'Design Thinking Process'.
Methods A total of 195 students participated who have experienced 'Design Thinking Process' and analyzed 208 responses which is including duplicate answers. Additionally, we found out specific problems through interviewing students.
Result Students responded as the most difficult stage is 'Empathy' was the highest with 45.2%, and they answered 'Insight' is especially difficult. Also it found to be secondly difficult to approach 'Finding Subject' and 'Mapping'.
Conclusion Based on these results, we suggest these follows to help students approach the 'Empathy' stage easily.
First, a facilitator should actively involved in the introduction stage of selecting a topic. Secondly, for analyzing the collected data, uses various tools rather than facilitator intervention.

A proposal of role and use of data in the design process according to the change of meaning of data

ABSTRACT
Background The design process is the process of understanding the user and suggesting a concept. In this process, various data are collected, analyzed, interpreted, and the design inspiration is obtained. In the traditional design process, data was regarded as a reference material, but as the design process gradually formed a view of viewing as a knowledge creation activity using data, attempts to utilize data as a material for design concept creation by utilizing various data collection technologies. This study aims to consider the role of data in the design process and to suggest directions for its use.
Methods Theoretical considerations such as the meaning of data in design and the concept of big data that played a big role in these semantic changes will be conducted as a literature study. Through a case study in data-driven design, we consider the process of using data as a creative material, and present a model that can conceptually explain the role of data in the design process according to the change in the meaning of data.
Result The change in the direction in which data can be used in the design process due to changes in data roles and usage methods was proposed as the following two points. The process of data semantic evolution is reflected in the design process as it is, leading to a change in the design process, and this change in data utilization is leading to the evolution of user participation.
Conclusion In this study, we looked at the changes in data utilization and its cases brought about by the evolution of the meaning of data in the design process, and redefined the changes in the design process from the perspective of data. It is expected that this study will be a basic study that can present a data utilization frame in future product and service projects.

A Study on the Visual Expression of Color Makeup Cosmetics Package Design in Accordance with Market Changes in Health & Beauty Stores - Focusing on Lip Package Design -

ABSTRACT
Background With the highlight of influencers’ activities emphasizing the bidirectional communication of SNS for 1425 generation, the fandom groups are rapidly formed. This means that the pattern of consumption structure in which consumers directly participate is gradually increasing instead of the general selling form led by companies. Changing from the rational consumption era emphasizing the rationality to the emotional consumption era through communication and experience, consumers aim to find the newness by giving meanings to their own lives. In this social change, companies actively utilize the packages as a marketing strategy for the closest contact point to consumers, so that the importance of color makeup package design is gradually emphasized. Thus, this study, first, understands the movements of color makeup cosmetics in H&B stores that are recently showing the remarkably-fast growth rate. Second, after setting up a hypothesis in which the visual expression technique strategy of differentiated color makeup cosmetics package design would have effects on the purchase pattern and preference of 1425 generation, this study aims to suggest the design guidelines.
Methods First, this study sets up the research scope as lip package design with the highest frequency of use in H&B stores, and then analyzes the movements of color makeup cosmetics market and package design. Second, this study produces the experimental stimulants combined with the differentiated visual expression technique by drawing the problems of color makeup cosmetics package design. Third, in order to understand differences in purchase behavior and preference, this study conducts a survey targeting total 175 women in 14-25 with experiences in purchasing color makeup cosmetics in H&B stores of Seoul and Gyeonggi region. Fourth, after going through data coding, the statistical data-processing is performed with the use of SPSS ver 21.0. This study conducts the quantitative analysis such as frequency analysis on the purchase pattern of lip products and lip product package design, and independent sample t-test to analyze the preference of package design in the emotional aspect.
Results In the results of verifying the hypotheses by conducting the empirical analysis with three types of empirical stimulants, they usually purchased lip products in accordance with change of feelings, and also showed the above average preference of package design combined with differentiated visual expression technique. Especially, the color and graphics of the visual elements of lip package design were the most importantly perceived, which was followed by container and package shape.
Conclusions The results of this study verified that the differentiated visual expression technique strategy in H&B stores would be a very important part for purchase behavior and preference. There should be more researches on package design understanding the sensitivity in which the 1425 generation that would lead the future color makeup market could give meanings to their own lives by communicating with surrounding stimulants(SNS, influence). In the future, there should be continuous researches on package design in each category of color makeup cosmetics in H&B stores based on this study.

Current Status and Perception of Learning Ethics Education - Focused on Design Major -

ABSTRACT
Background As awareness on establishing research ethics has increased in Korea, regulations and systems related to research ethics have improved considerably. Unlike research ethics required by professional researchers such as professors, researchers and graduate students, however, education on learning ethics, which is mostly applied to undergraduates attending universities, is relatively insufficient compared to research ethics education. In particular, it is difficult to reflect in detail the characteristics of the majors, as it is common to present general guidelines that should be followed, including all areas of specialties.
Methods The purpose of this research is to identify the educational content required at the design education site by empirical investigation of the status and awareness of learning ethics education for those involved in design colleges and design majors and draw out learning ethics education contents that reflect the characteristics of design majors based on the results.
Result Based on the results of this study, learning ethics education that reflects the characteristics of design majors should be conducted. Learning ethics education should be provided more actively by universities than by professors and students' arbitrariness or morality, and education programs that reflect design characteristics should be provided to meet the needs of design majors and students.
Conclusion We hope to contribute to the research of design learning ethics teaching methods and intellectual property education contents and education programs to produce designers with design ethics awareness to society.

A Study on the Application of Digital Signage (DS) in Clothing Stores through Participatory Design

ABSTRACT
Background With the advent of the evolutionary consumption era of the fashion industry, the question of whether the characteristics of digital signage could match the market characteristics of collaborating across producers 'and consumers' boundaries and use it as a design medium for participation in offline stores. This is the background that started. Therefore, this study is an interactive digital signage used in clothing stores to induce consumer participation in design (interactive) to explore the possibility of consumer participation design through the use of digital signage in clothing stores. We analyzed the relationship with participatory design. The purpose of this study is to summarize and analyze digital signage participation design elements in application characteristics, consumer interaction characteristics, and clothing stores, and to lay the foundation for future alternative research on the relationship between digital media and digital media technology and design. This is the purpose of the study.
Methods Therefore, we analyze the elements of participatory design that can be applied to digital signage in a clothing store by market, technology, user, and design, and apply it to real cases to explore the applicability of participatory design to digital signage. . As part of the preliminary verification process, elements of each participant design are conducted as expert questionnaire methods using the two-round Delphi technique for feasibility and correlation analysis. In order to extrapolate the results of verification with precedent cases and theoretical background based on a deductive reasoning method, they are substituted into case analysis obtained by on-offline investigation and qualitatively analyzed characteristics with interactive elements in each case. The results of qualitative analysis are combined with the participatory design elements to obtain results in a hypothetical reasoning method that matches the arguments set as the scope of the study.
Result As a result of selecting and analyzing seven representative cases that match the above research background and research method, the consumer and designer of fashion design can interact through digital media and the consumer can participate in the design, and this paradigm shift is judged that it is possible to create a virtuous cycle structure that can provide more positive consumer experiences to consumers by promoting brand value and sales as well as enhancing the value of technology.
Conclusion Through the above results, it was confirmed that technology, equipment, market, consumer goals change and demand, and digital goals can be important means to participate in design. However, the consideration of user elements among the participating design elements should be central, and the evolution of other elements should be complementary.

A Study on the Influence of Voluntary PR Activities of China Wang Hong on Consumer Behavior Intention - Focused on the Mediating Effect of Satisfaction -

Background This study is aimed at understanding marketing related to Wang Hong, the influencer of internet personal broadcasting and highlighted in the Chinese market recently in accordance with the changes in SNS-based e-commerce industry environment that are being highlighted in the new media era. The purpose of the study is to examine the effect of voluntary PR activities appearing on personal broadcasting of Wanghong, China, on consumers' purchasing behavior.
Methods Research methods combine theoretical and survey studies. Confidence analysis, confirmation factors analysis, correlation analysis and hypothesis verification analysis were conducted using IBM SPSS21.0/AMOS 25.0 statistical package for verification based on prior research.
Result The results of this study were, first, able to develop voluntary PR activities, consumer behaviour, components of satisfaction and measurement questions of Wanghong, a Chinese influencer. Second, the research model and hypotheses H1 and H2 were presented and the parameter effects of satisfaction were verified in order to empirically analyze the influence relations of each of the voluntary PR activities, consumer behaviour and satisfaction of Wanghong in China. Third, based on the analysis results obtained through the verification of the theory of study, Wang Hong's voluntary PR activities, consumer behavior and impact relationships on satisfaction were derived.
Conclusion The voluntary PR activities of China Wang Hong influenced consumer behavior, and the satisfaction in the relationship between the voluntary PR activities of China Wang Hong and the degree of consumer behavior was shown to have a partial mediated effect.

Development of a Barcode-based Standardized Quality Management System Design of Donated Human Milk and Evaluation Tool for Mother-Infant Health Improvement

ABSTRACT
Background Human milk (HM) is well known to have lots of advantages for infants in nutritional, protective, and developmental aspects. However, some of infants are not accessible to their own mothers’milk. WHO strongly recommended the pasteurized donor milk as the first option for such infants. For the effective and safe supply of pasteurized donor milk, numerous HM banks are established and very actively operating globally. In the HM banks, very specialized methods are warranted including the donor selection, collection, storage, processing, recipient selection, and distribution. Unfortunately, the HM bank is not active and even officially established in Korea. The aim of the current study is to find and to recommend a standardized system ensuring the safety and easily acceptable to Korean mothers and general health care facilities in Korea.
Methods We reviewed the literatures and the previous surveillance studies for the issues on the Korean HM banks to explore the requests on the establishment of HM bank in Korea. Following the review results, the authors designed the barcode-based HM bank management and tracking system suitable in Korea.
Result In the previous studies, the safety and accessibility of HM bank were the most important issues for the Korean mothers. To minimize the concerns on the safety of donated HMs, the tracking system from the donor to the recipients was applied. Moreover, the system was optimized to enhance the function of the localization of the HM banks. conceptual barcode label system was developed to meet the Korean mothers’ requests.
Conclusion The barcode-based standardized HM bank manage system for Korean HM bank was developed. The system would be most appropriate design for localization model of Korean HM bank.
