ABSTRACT
Background In modern society, the function of generation that shares diversity as a community of emotion and love rather than uniformity, flexibility rather than formalization, and application of rules and rules is emerging. It is very meaningful to identify the differences in perceptions of generations in light of the rapidly changing state and phenomena of a generation that have a common social and cultural sentiment at this point. This study is a study on the recognition of social big data associations related to the 'generation Y' and 'generation Z', which are emerging as an important trend in the market. In this paper, we applied a scientific technique called associative big data research using SNS and verified and compared the perceptions of two specific generations that reflect the recent era. Generation Y and Generation Z are very interested in and influenced by the previous generation, Generation X, and they have a lot of emotions that are common to the previous generation. Generation Y has a high preference in terms of the product itself, and Generation Z is more interested in the intangible technologies (App, SNS) that can be used through the product, and the emotional analysis on social inequality shows a very low preference.
Methods This study considers previous research on 'New Generation' and uses SNS that can collect a lot of objective data to analyze each generation's perception using two keywords 'Y Generation' and 'Z Generation' which are currently attracting attention. We used big data and Social MetrixTM, which provides analysis by Opinion Mining, one of the big data analysis methods on the web.
Result As a result of comparative analysis of generation Y and Z generation through analysis of social big data, they are generations optimized for various new technology devices such as smartphones, Internet, Internet of Things, and SNS, optimized for individual, and centered on current and future consumption. The common characteristics were found. They also confirmed that their characteristics would be a new cultural and economic consumer, and could find and analyze differences on specific issues.
Conclusion Analyzing the relevant words related to generation through research methods and processes using social big data reveals insights on social awareness and social trends, and makes new decisions about new information and services of interest. It became possible. In the future, we will be able to distinguish and utilize useful information among the numerous information produced in the era of social media, and to make scientific and systematic planning to gain trust in information-aware research from information users.

A Study on the Purchasing Behavior of Jewelry By Mobile of Working Women

ABSTRACT
Background Consumers' online purchases are increasing rapidly, and it is said that the era of online shopping is in full swing. Online purchasing is spreading regardless of product type. This is because not only can a product be purchased at a relatively low price compared to an offline store, but also items that are difficult to purchase in a general store can be easily obtained by searching. First of all, the convenience of purchasing is the core of online purchasing. Jewelery is no longer an exception. In particular, with the activation of smart phone, the purchase through imitation will increase, and the purchase age is expected to decrease gradually. In this regard, this study aims to prepare countermeasures that can be made to purchase as well as repurchase by investigating factors and satisfaction improvement that affect jewelry purchase through mobile.
Methods The purpose of this study was to investigate jewelry buying behavior by mobile among women in their 20s and 40s. Proceed to questionnaire survey by random sampling of female workers living in Korea
Result When deciding on the purchase of jewelry through mobile, convenience, design, transaction, and information items were found to influence the purchase, and promotion, price, and items were not recognized as much.
Conclusion By investigating factors, satisfaction, and improvement that affect purchase, it is expected to be used as basic data for marketing strategy in the rapidly growing mobile market jewelry field, and it will be helpful to prepare response strategy accordingly.

Visual Component of Package Design Type and Consumer Response - Mainly on Hair-Loss Prevention Shampoo -

ABSTRACT
Background Recently, the hair loss population reached 10 million people, the demand for related products for scalp and hair care is increasing rapidly. It is necessary to prepare a differentiation plan to promote the development and sale of new shampoo package design in the domestic hair loss prevention shampoo market. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to categorize and analyze the current hair loss prevention shampoo package design in Korea and to suggest future design direction and to help product development.
Methods We analyzed five product cases by considering the visual components of package design as well as understanding package design through domestic and foreign literature and previous studies. After grasping the trend of package design, we conducted a consumer survey on consumers' use of anti-hair loss shampoo and their perception of package design.
Result As a result of analyzing the consumer preferences through the six visual components of the anti-hair loss shampoo package design, the brand logo using letters, the product name using letters and pictures, and the modern colors with low brightness were used to express the product characteristics with pictures. Ryeo's products were highly preferred, and Dr. For Hair with a neat layout of left alignment, and TS with proper use of Gothic and Myeongjo showed high preference in typography elements.
Conclusion Understanding consumers' preferences for anti-hair loss shampoo package design is meaningful in establishing a strategy for using visual components. Package design has become a major means of shaping the brand image as a brand strategy beyond protecting products. It is important to understand the needs of consumers and to establish effective strategies to communicate with consumers through brand identity to lead consumers to purchase products.

A Study on the Characteristics of City Brand Design Using Flexible Identity

ABSTRACT
Background City brands play an important role in enhancing the image and value of cities. In order to secure sustainable urban competitiveness in a rapidly changing environment, the direction of city brands is important. City brands are evolving in various ways due to the development of media and consumer needs. In times of empathy, city brands can develop into the creation of cultural contents. In order to raise the value and sympathy of the cultural heritage of cities, there is a growing interest in what elements a city brand should have, and the necessity of related research has emerged.
Methods The trend of city brands was examined and the Flexibility Chart proposed by Emanuel Jochum(2013) was applied to the examples of city brands. In addition, based on the type of experiential marketing proposed by Bernd H. Schmitt(2013) in experiential marketing, recent cases of overseas city brands were investigated and analyzed.
Result As a result of analyzing the variability chart of urban brand, it was found that the balance of variability and identity is important in urban brand development. According to the case of strategic experience of urban brand, urban branding uses various experiential marketing methods to connect with urban spaces and components and to induce interaction with users.
Conclusion City brands, using their transformative identities, provide an element of experience design that allows them to create their own story by delegating some of their control over the brand to users, and the opportunity to share this positive experience with others. In order to achieve sustainable and future-oriented design realization, systematic brand experience design method should be applied.

Application Direction of Universal Design Considering Social Change

ABSTRACT
Background For the effective establishment of policies and application related to universal design, the comprehensive study on the aspect of social changes that influences on human lives must be performed in priority. Therefore, this study purposes to predict universal design-related issues that will change according to social change, evaluate the current status of universal design in Korea, and suggest the application direction of universal design considering the social change.
Methods This study selected major social changes that have a significant impact on our society in the future, and predicts universal design-related issues that would be transformed by the social changes. Through the research papers, policy reports, literature, and laws related to universal design, previous studies and policy trends were analyzed to identify the current status of universal design in Korea, focusing on current laws, ordinances, and guidelines related to universal design. Based on such, the application direction of universal design considering the social changes was suggested.
Result The major social changes to be considered in deriving the direction of universal design include the entry into an aging society, the pursuit of social integration, the pursuit of sustainable development, the emergence of new technologies and the diversification of industries. As a result of inspecting the laws, ordinances and guidelines regarding the current domestic universal design, the application direction of universal design which our society should pursue in the future are derived into four directions; pursuance of coexistence value between social members, pursuance of sustainability, expansion from public areas to private areas, and diversification of universal design application areas.
Conclusion The results of this study could be used as the foundation materials for the establishment of universal design policies and research and development of universal design in design areas corresponding to the future social changes.

A Study on the Space Composition of Boutique Hotel Lobby - Focused on the hotel opened in the 2010s -

ABSTRACT
Background Boutique hotels have emerged in line with the tastes of users interested in differentiation or personalized design and services due to the industrial revolution and the increase of personal income and cultural level. The lobby is a kind of gateway to use the services of the hotel, and it is a symbolic space that can give a variety of senses to the user depending on how it is constructed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the space composition of the lobby of a boutique hotel and to make a reference for future boutique hotel planning and to contribute to the development of the domestic tourism industry.
Methods Through the previous studies on the concept and characteristics of boutique hotels, the characteristics of boutique hotels are identified. In addition, based on the previous research on the concept and function of the lobby and the classification of the lobby according to the composition of the lobby, an analysis framework is prepared and based on this framework, the lobby space of the boutique hotel is analyzed to draw conclusions.
Result As a result of applying the classification criteria of lobby according to the space composition to the analysis framework and analyzing the lobby space of the boutique hotel, Most were mixed.
Conclusion The result of this study seems to be a way to accommodate various programs under conditions that are constrained by the nature of the boutique hotel, which is narrower and smaller than the general hotel. Boutique hotels have a theme that meets the needs of society. Therefore, more detailed classification research on the space composition of the boutique hotel lobby should be conducted.

ABSTRACT
Background In terms of space design, if conventional building manuals are used in the frame of Building Act, it is possible to shorten a time and save a cost, and apply a variety of user needs. No matter who a manual is perfect, it is simply universal guidelines with a wide range of selection. Such a manual is not enough to reflect different environmental factors, different emotions, and various kinds of needs without any creative approach. Therefore, this researcher tries to find a new problem-solving process for doing space design tasks by using TRIZ, a creativity technique.
Methods For this study, the actual land with 321 pyeong in size was selected. There are typical system factors that cause contradiction in the course of trying an improvement for the realization of an ideal residential space. This study selected seven factors: neighboring road, floor area ratio, the opening, forest, partition wall, a difference of floor level, and fence. According to the procedure of 4SPS(4Step Problem Solving) of practical TRIZ, each problem-solving method was drawn.
Result Based on the drawn design requirements, ideas were specified with the use of the design tool ‘Auto Cad’. A simulation was made finally with 3D graphics. In this way, the feasibility for design overall was predicted.
Conclusion This study may cause unexpected technical troubles in the field construction course. Nevertheless, if relevant research continues to be conducted, it is possible to develop the space design process, and positively influence the whole area of design

The Effect of School Uniform Shirt on Neck and Shoulder Muscle Activities of Female High School Students during Work

ABSTRACT
Background The time of using a computer and a smart-phone by female high school students continues to increase. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of school uniform for female high school students on neck and shoulder muscle activities during computer typing, smartphone use, and handwriting.
Methods Surface electromyography (SEMG) of cervical erector spinae (CES), upper trapezius (UT), anterior deltoid (AD), and posterior deltoid (PD) were measured during computer typing, smartphone use and handwriting with five subjects in two different sized school uniform shirts from two brands. The measured SEMG data were normalized by %RVC.
Result In all types of shirts, CES showed the highest muscle activity among four muscles during work. UT had significantly higher muscle activity during computer typing than other works in all types of shirts. The muscle activity of AD during computer typing was significantly higher than during handwriting in the three types of shirts except the larger shirt of brand A. PD muscle activity in all four types of shirts was highest during handwriting followed by computer typing and was lowest during smartphone use. In accordance with the brand of a same sized shirt, the muscle activities of CES, AD and PD during handwriting in the smaller shirt and that of AD during typing and CES and UT during smartphone use in the larger shirt were significantly higher in brand A than in brand B. According to the shirt size of a same brand, the muscle activity of CES, AD, and PD during smartphone use was significantly high in the smaller shirt only in brand A.
Conclusion The muscle activities of the neck and shoulder differed by the type of work and the size of the shirt. Careful consideration will be required to determine the amount of ease and to establish the size system for producing functional uniform shirts that reduce muscle fatigue.

East Asian concepts of the modern term "Gongyeh(craft)“ which is the origin of‘fine art’and ‘design’, and its convergent value

ABSTRACT
Background The word 'Gongyeh' translates to 'Craft' in English. It was originally translated from Japanese into a Chinese character, which was then imported into Korea. While the word 'Craft' carries an important concept that spans Art & Design, the translated word 'Gongyeh' slightly distorts the concept. This research investigates the gap between the original meaning of 'Craft' in the west and the meaning of 'Gongyeh' in East Asia, therefore contributing to the future direction of design study.
Methods Through literature review, this study conducted a comparative study of the East Asian traditional concept of 'Gongyeh‘ and its Western counterpart. Japan first started modernization in East Asia and created various art-related terms. This study tries to understand the history of Japanese modernity and examines the situation in which Korea accepted and modified the concept of modern ‘crafts’.
Result The term “crafts” was created in the West since modern times and was translated and transplanted through Japan. The act of “craft” was not distinguished by the act of “making” in east Asia. The East Asian perspective is that true production is integration of the providence of man and universe. In addition, this study examined the transition in which the new concept of craft is accepted in modern Korea through Japan.
Conclusion The acceptance of modern terminology of crafts involved the change of tradition, and view of nature and world. The consideration of traditional concepts of these terms aims to find a connection with the present by finding the cultural background and values that have been forgotten behind current design issues. Based on this study, it is necessary to develop a new future value through the fusion of East-West by combining the Western worldview and knowledge system with the oriental value structure.
