Production Principles of Pictogram used on Hospital Websites

ABSTRACT
Background Information on medical services is provided through the hospital website recently, depending on the growth of the medical industry. The hospital website uses pictograms as one of the methods to communicate medical information, but lacks relevant guidelines or principles. Therefore, it is necessary to establish the production principles for the pictograms available on the hospital website.
Methods Explore the production principles of Pictogram for Public and Safety through relevant studies. Out of these principles, items that were not suitable for use in hospitals were excluded from the hospital websites, and only the items needed were presented in principle. Based on the production principles presented in this study, the utilization of the pictogram of the five largest hospital websites was identified. So we conforms how much it corresponds to the principles. Result As a result of analysis by hospitals, the most relevant hospitals were Seoul Asan Hospital, and the other hospitals were Seoul National University Hospital. According to the analysis of items in the principles, items that are best suited to the principles presented are geometrical construction, template layout and line thickness, and the incongruent item is consistency of graphic symbols.
Conclusion This study was meant to provide a criterion for guidance to assist in using the pictogram for medical information of hospital websites.

A Study on Infographics Research Trend from 2004 to 2017: Focusing on the Content Analysis of Academic Journal Articles in Korea

ABSTRACT
Background With the rapid change of media platforms, the communication between big data and recipients has gained in importance. Infographics, the visual expression of a large quantity of selected and extracted data, exerts positive influence by not only enhancing the user’s recollective memory and understanding but also arousing his or her interest. In this light, the study is designed to identify the current academic standing of Infographics that registers high levels of usability in the industry and thereby provide useful suggestions to both the related workers and researchers.
Methods Chosen for analysis a total of 82 research papers extracted from the academic journals listed in the South Korean academic databases, keywords such as infographic and infographics (and their Korean equivalents) were used. The thesis has come up with the results by analyzing the content, and the research results have been analyzed and come up with the implications for research trends by focusing on the significance of chi-squared test.
Result First, as far as the characteristics of the researchers are concerned, the largest number of the researches had one or two researchers, esp. with those working in academia and specializing in design. Second, as far as the research characteristics go, many of the studies focused on web-related media. They were visibly concerned with Infographics in education and most of them were done by analyzing the content. Third, the majority of the studies treated production, planning, and strategy, and the expressive elements and characteristics of Infographics. Fourth, the study shows that research on infographics began in 2004 and there was a lull until 2011 when full-blown research started and registered a sharp increase in 2014. Lastly, a relatively larger percentage of the papers ended up published.
Conclusion The study is significant, in that it has come up with implications by performing a total analysis on and figuring out the trends in academic research on Infographics, which is now used in various areas. It is also significant, in that it presents important guidelines for related workers identifying infographic trends and creating strategy and presents related researchers with directions for future research by identifying the general research trends. Future collaboration among academic fields should require an interdisciplinary approach.

Meaning of the Trigrams water and fire on the Korean flag - In viewpoint of Korean philosophy -

ABSTRACT
Background The four trigrams in Korean flag are positioned in different directions; the heaven in the top left, the earth in the bottom right, the fire in the bottom left, and the water in the top right. While the heaven and earth trigrams seem to be arranged in agreement with natural law, top and bottom respectively, the others’positions, water in the top and fire in the bottom, do not match with the natural law(gravity).
Methods In this study, the reasons of these different positions of the four trigrams are explained mainly through the theory “principle (理) issues(發) and material(氣) follows(隨), material issues and principle mounts(乘)”.
Result According to the theory “Big Bang(太極) and principle(理)-material(氣)”, supreme ultimate (太極) in the centre of Korean flag can represent the big bang, and the heaven and earth trigrams could be expected as the universe including planet earth, which developed during the big bang evolution process by the big bang (supreme ultimate) evolution principle. That means the principle of supreme ultimate (the big bang) issues and the material follows in view point of the theory “Big Bang and principle-material”. Therefore, the positions of heaven and earth trigrams are in agreement with the preliminary development rule “principle issues and material follows”. On the other hand, the positions of water and fire trigrams can be explained by the second active changing rule “material issues and principle mounts”. As the lighter material rises up and heavier material goes down toward the center of gravity, the lighter materials should be placed in the downward position and the heavier materials in the upward position when we want to give an impulsion to natural circulation. The second changing rule applied to Korean flag extends not only to the nature but also to the human body and human society, in the same way that the preliminary development rule can be applied to the whole universe after the big bang, including planet earth, humans and their society.
Conclusion The meaning of use of the Korean flag is that we apply particularly the preventive changing rule “material issues and principle mounts” to our health, environment, politics, economy, and society, because it is designed to represent this rules. We can also recognize the attraction of the design of Korean flag appling the Korean neo-confucian theory “Big Bang and principle-material” through this study.

ABSTRACT
Background The importance of brand has expanded as a total communication activity in an entrepreneurship. The construction of a successful brand strengthens communication and loyalty of consumer, thus to build a characteristic brand is essential to the corporate. However, there are lots of misunderstandings between brand producer, developer and comsumer in the actual development process of a brand.
Methods This study conducted student workshops using brand profiling toolkit based on questions that are consisted by text and images. This study implemented the survey of college students in 3~4 grade. Group of students were conducted the project of brand concept.
Result As a consequence, lecturers and researchers evaluated and interpreted the results of survey and the process of a brand conception. This result shows that the images and the text are complementary and especially the question with images is creatively useful in brand development process.
Conclusion This study is expected to make the a role of image communication, which will be helpful for a practical brand development and research about brand studies.

A study on Empathy response and Components of ‘Chilsung Cider’ TV advertising narrative

ABSTRACT
Background In a society dominated by cultural sensibility, an emotional approach of empathy is certainly required to continue interacting with consumers for being distinguished among competitor, as a sustainable brand. In this regards, the present paper analyses a relationship between empathic response factors and TV advertisement narrative in terms of visual and image design.
Methods This study examines definition of empathy, structure, type and component of TV advertisement narrative through literature review and earlier studies. The study obtains the results by using different methods: Consumer behavior on TV advertisement narrative and cognitive and emotional responses are analyzed through survey data while research analysis on behavioral self-identification was obtained by SPSS statistical analysis.
Result Empathic response factor analysis results for the TV ad narrative of the brand, Chilsung Cider, are as follows. A narrative in the style of vignette advertisement, can affect on inducing its cognitive empathic response by using landscapes and natural objects rather than using character. It also can be analyzed that the empathic response to understanding of message is highly depend on a slogan or linguistic and auditory elements rather than visual modeling. In other words, the empathic response factors depend on the type of narrative on the TV ad.
Conclusion A sustainable brand, has its high brand equity and consumer trust, can be a long-run brand by building up a cognitive and emotional empathy, sympathy paradigm in a social relations. From a practical perspective, it should be recognized that products with emotional attachment are needed more creative ways to feel emotional response for the sake of deriving consumer attention.

Development of Fashion walking stick for Senior - Focused on Method to Use Ottchil(Korean Lacquer) -

ABSTRACT
Background Aging population has soared as low fertility causes an aging society. A walking stick has especially become an important object for the elderly who are weak and are suffering from a fracture, as it helps them live independent lives. However, carrying a walking stick means that you are challenged. Walking sticks in the existing markets only focus on practical purposes but lack an aesthetic sense, which leads to low self regard and limits their social activities.
This study is designed to develop a fashionable and trendy design for walking sticks differentiated from the existing products by improving design and functional aspects.
Methods The study was mainly examined focusing on the lifestyle of seniors and their consuming pattern. Fashion walking sticks for seniors of this study were designed using eco-friendly flowers and animals as design motifs and also both eco-friendly and durable walking sticks were developed by utilizing Ottchil techniques.
Result The results expanded the range of new fashion jewelry, walking sticks, and Ottchil techniques. It also pursued both functionality and aesthetic appearance, making use of various techniques and materials.
Conclusion As Korea enters an again society, seniors carrying walking sticks imply a negative impression that is old and in need of help, which leads to their lower social participation. If those with functionality and aesthetic appearance are developed, after understanding their tastes and desires, the effort will be connected to a better life and higher social participation of the elderly. Also, with walking sticks being situated as an exclusive item for seniors, fashion walking sticks will positively affect the existing products and be a high value product because of their diversity and distinctiveness.

Background Today, Korea's economic and industrial development has developed the cosmetics industry. at the same time, Korea's cosmetic products development and production growth has been rapidly growing not only in China, Japan and other Asian countries, but also in the world. Two factors are necessary for the Korean cosmetic industry to continue to develop. First, it is the development of functional new materials that meet consumers' needs and trends. Second, it is the development of a container structure that can fully realize the function of the new material developed. By ther way, not only Korea, Compared to the demand for functional new materials developed in many countries in the world, the function of the container structure has not been followed yet.
Methods Cosmetics mixture container patent technology analysis method First, analysis of patent technology distribution by country and company, Second, analysis of patent technology change by year.
Result Through analyzing various countries and companies that lead the development of cosmetic products, they want to identify the cosmetics market technology market. In addition, the company will analyze the technology changes of the patents per year of blister and dual pump mixing containers to predict the future technology market of mixed containers.
Conclusion Through this study, First, the necessity of using cosmetic mixing container is recognized and the skill and function of container are understood. Second, by analyzing the distribution of technology in various countries and companies in the world, on technology differences and technology trends with domestic companies into the database. Third, by analyzing changes in patent technology for cosmetic blister and dual-pump mixing container by year the current commercial technology and future technology into the database.

ABSTRACT
Background This study analyzes the artistic world of surrealist representative artists including the works of Elsa Schiaparelli and the formative characteristics of surrealist techniques. The purpose is to explore mysteries and images through surrealistic phenomena, and develop creative designs to produce textile design through the relationship between art and fashion.
Methods Among the various techniques of surrealistic techniques, the study suggests a newly designed work by applying the motifs from objet, collage, decalcomania, and frottage and combining them with modern fashion design.
Result In order to have originality, the work(3) went through a mix-and-match approach, in which a mixture of two or more new objects were used, transforming the original image into a new one. The world of surrealist works has significance in presenting the creativity of the work and its potential of development.
Conclusion The surrealist world is moving away from the existing framework and stimulates fantastic and mysterious imagination, which has a great influence on the production of various works. Hopefully, surrealist works combined with modern fashion will lead to the development of a differentiated industry.

ABSTRACT
Background This study is based on the natural beauty of the human body on the subject of human figure and examines Madeleine Vionnet’s creative works who developed ‘bias cut' integrated on the knowledge of patterns and materials. The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of artistic and formative elements that appear in the pattern composition and to suggest ways of activation.
Methods The artistic and formative elements appearing in the pattern composition of Vionnet’s works from 1930 to 2017 are examined, which are then applied to the work of modern fashion design.
Result Through the reinterpretation of contemporary fashion through my works and Vionnet's design, the characteristics of utilization of Bias cut which is one of the all-time great technique, artwork and formative elements were observed.
Conclusion By presenting unique ideas for creative and differentiated fashion images through contemporary fashion researches, foundations for growth as a high valueadded fashion industry that can satisfy consumers' individuality and aesthetics is to set foot.
