Characteristics of Interior Space through Domestic Premium Supermarket Program

ABSTRACT
Modern society has undergone changes from the age in which people purchase products to the age in which people purchase values as various life styles were on the rise based on the change of the size of a population and the change of the market environment.
The aim of the present study is to draw characteristics of interior spaces through a domestic premium supermarket program. In the study, premium supermarket can be defined as an attractive sales space triggering consumer purchase needs with products with specialness and scarcity in an interior space through the differentiated program.
Accordingly, the study draws characteristics displayed by interior spaces, which are elements that can improve consumer value through literature search and case study. The study investigates the concept and elements of the interior spaces of the premium supermarkets through theoretical considerations of premium supermarkets, examine the concept, the characteristics of the program and ways of activation through the program, and then draw and analyze the frame of case analysis on the basis of the correlation between the program and the interior spaces.
In conclusion, the study selected domestic premium supermarkets such as SSG food market, Gourmet 494, Orga Whole Foods Markets and olive markets, analyzing characteristics related to the interior spaces. The characteristics of the interior spaces through premium supermarkets turned out to be differentiation, symbolization, influx, variability, interaction.
Modern premium supermarkets should be able to stimulate sensibility of consumers by increasing interactions with them since the concept of consumption has been changed to value and experience in accordance with the change of times.
It is expected that, as the result of the study, the characteristics derived from the interior spaces through the program for sales activation of the premium supermarkets will be useful data for future space design of premium supermarkets.

A study on effects of the unit of symbolic color of a portal site on downloading applications

ABSTRACT
The hypothesis, the uniformity of color element in applications would affect the intent of application downloads, was adopted. That is, the higher unity of the color elements of an application can increase the purchase intentions of it.
Based on this result, each portal site needs to analyze the elements that were applied with inappropriate concepts and used inefficiently, and to revise to ensure the unity in it.
Due to the unity of the visual elements in the application, consumers will be able to build a positive brand image in the long-term, strategic perspective, reducing the ambiguity of the corporate image.

The Relationship Between Public Self-Consciousness and Body Management Behavior of Unmarried Women - The Mediator Effect of Internalization of Sociocultural Values Related to Appearance and Body Shame -

ABSTRACT
The current study is to set up public self-consciousness, internalization of sociocultural values relating to appearance, and body shame as the causal variables; and identify the direct or mediator effects of variables and the differences depending on the ages. This study is of significance in covering the existing studies integratedly. Moreover, this aims to reveal the relations of how these factors turn to be the body management behaviors after all. A survey was conducted targeting 346 adult unmarried women at the age of 20 to 30 who live in Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas. The data analysis was performed through the programs such as AMOS 19.0 and SPSS 19.0 for Windows. The findings are as follows; First, Public self-consciousness had direct effects both on internalization of sociocultural values relating to appearance, and internalization of sociocultural values relating to appearance had direct effects both on body shame, and it appeared that body shame affected body management behaviors directly. Second, Public self-consciousness had an influence on body shame indirectly, also the internalization of sociocultural values relating to appearance had an influence on body management behavior indirectly. Third, Sociocultural values relating to appearance and body shame to have the most significant difference according to in age.

The case study of textile design using soy wax resist

ABSTRACT
In the field of textile design it is necessary to keep studying on the echo method that does not contaminate a great quantity of water or pollute the air. The batik is a long historical dyeing technique, which can express the details of design and is worthwhile to study as an artistic area. If its research would be done with soy wax instead of chemical wax, it could be possible to reduce the quantity of waste water and decrease the air pollution.
Soy wax is considered as a suitable material for the expression, with which the textile design development using batik technique can be continued.
First, this paper researched, in this regard, the origin of soy wax, its comparison with batik wax, and its strengths. Next, an interview with Deborah Bunny Bowen and a workshop at her atelier were done. She is one of the textile artists in the United States of America, which is the country of origin of soy wax, and published a dissertation on soy wax resist printing. Third, in order to compare the various cases of textile design of soy wax, different pieces of soy wax textile design and this writter`s researches on textile design using soy wax and own design works are compared and analyzed. As a result, it turned out that the most appropriate textile for the study on textile design was thin cdc(crepe de chine) silk using the wax mixed bees wax, which was easy to dye to express what was desired as it could make perfect resist.
Soy wax hereby could be used for the development of textile design since soy wax can be an eco-friendly material and can express distinctive style of an artist`s handwork as well. Digital printing combining soy wax will also provide diverse colors and present various design effects. The purpose and meaning of this study, therefore, could be found in that it is expected to utilize soy wax for development and application of current textile design according to user`s unique individuality and purpose.

Cultural Tourism Product Design Development and Stimulation using Cultural Resources of Pyeongchang

ABSTRACT
Cultural reproduction using cultural resources, the basis of our social activities, can bring new values of the future. This study was inspired by the need to develop cultural tourism products using the local cultural resources. The purpose of this study is to stimulate design development by exploring the cultural resources of Pyeongchang and utilizing it for tourist souvenirs with visual image.
In Pyeongchanggun, it is rather difficult to share visual and cultural arts, due to the wide population distribution as a mountainous region. However, the area has customs and cultural heritage with a long tradition. Developing tourist souvenirs based on the cultural resources will play a key role in promoting the local cultures at local and international festivals and tourist spots amid the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics and other events.
At the tourist souvenir shops designated by Pyeongchanggun, the items were examined. Most of them were agricultural products and local specialties. Tourist souvenirs, which promotes tourist spots and holds the memory of sightseeing, serve as a medium that showcase local features. It is a crucial role in the era of globalization. Thus, tourist souvenir development is imperative.
This study is intended to stress that it is essential to develop differentiated, specialized tourist souvenirs through materials that showcase local cultures. To that end, this study has explored product image materials among the local cultural resources.
Souvenir development based on local cultures is essential to developing tourism resources. It is linked to boosting the productivity of local manufacturers, job creation, and economic growth.
Thus, souvenir development is highly beneficial to the economic development of each area.

Comparison between Fast and Slow fashion-goods consumers` consumption attitudes and the influence of Psychographic characteristics

ABSTRACT
This study is try to prove the possibility of two scales to quantitatively measure of fast and slow fashion consumers, which will allow for these consumers to be characterized based on decision-making. And The scale that used in this research which shows the fast and slow fashion consumers` consumption attitudes characteristics based on decision-making process will be potentially useful to researchers and retailers to make better understand their target markets. The present research is to study the differences between fast and slow fashion-goods consumers in regards to their consumer decision-making process stages to conduct a survey of 764, 20s undergraduate students. In order to solve these subjects, the research has conducted regional frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, factor analysis, manova, and K-means analysis for the purpose of doing this study, and then the results are as in the followings; First, this research derived 6 factors from fast and slow fashion-goods consumers` consumption attitudes based on decision-making stages by factor analysis, and they were named as innovation, hedonic, disposal, practicality, value, and preference for achromatic color. Meanwhile, the consumption attitude of fast fashion-goods consumers is more affected about innovation, hedonic, and disposal than that of slow fashion-goods consumers, and the consumption attitude of slow fashion-goods consumers is more affected about practicality, and preference for achromatic color. But interestingly, the difference between fast and slow fashion-goods consumers was not statistically significant about value. Second, there is a difference between fast and slow fashion-goods consumers by psychographics characteristics. In other words, fast fashion-goods consumers are more affected than slow fashion-goods consumers by fashion leadership, the importance of being well dressed, conspicuous consumption, and self-construal.

A Sensitivity Evaluation on the Design of Vehicle Black Box

ABSTRACT
Recently, as vehicle penetration rate increases, the traffic accident rate continues to grow. Accordingly, the market of vehicle black box is growing in order to take care of the accidents properly.
In this study, we propose the products design direction of the vehicle black box based on the researches which are the analysis of the several commercial black boxes in its property and design and sensitivity evaluation.
The study is carried out in 4 steps as follows. First, the types and structures of the general vehicle black boxes are examined through literature investigation. Second, targets attached type in a vehicle black box in the market, Analyzed the characteristics and design of Domestic and foreign companies of products. Analyzed the characteristics labeled as shape and color of product. Third, sensitivity evaluation are conducted for the each design of the black boxes. Was used to evaluate how the Semantic Differential method, reliability analysis and factor analysis was performed analyzes. On this basis, we propose the design direction of the vehicle black boxes.
In consequence, it is turned out that a horizontal rectangle shape is efficient for expressing easy usage. Also, a straight-line shape and white or color of high chroma is efficiency for exclusivity.

ABSTRACT
Contemporary architects apply a lot of patterns to the architectural surface they design. The patterns of the architectural surface include fanciness, symbolism, human`s inner sensitivity and they are also shown in the shadow of interior space. Various shadow patterns emerge as a element of interior space, and rhythm can be found through the patterns. Rhythm is commonly found in the various field of nature, music, literature, architecture, and daily life. It also has continuity and unity and provides new experiences and a feeling of satisfaction to the users as a basic composition of modeling.
Although a study on the rhythmicity of shadow patterns is valuable, it is hard to find research papers on the subject. In present study, theoretical review has been practiced on the rhythm of shadow patterns so as to investigate the characteristics of rhythm and shadow. Shadow patterns are reviewed from the perspective of rhythm through investigating modeling, characteristic, patterns. The case framework of this review have a result that the rhythm of shadow patterns is able to attract the users` attention and emotional changes and is valuable enough to be applied as a element of spatial design, so continual study should be supplied to find further applications.

Research on Jewelry Applying Method using Interlacing Technique

Being the most closely related to our lives among craft fields, the textile craft is suitable for creating formative expression by combining it with jewelry design worn on the body. In this study, we examined the interlacing technique belonging to the textile craft technique and proposed a variety of expression possibilities as jewelry design through the development of pattern design highlighting formativeness that emphasizes texture by using metallic lines.
As entwining work using thread, rope, string etc., interlacing has interesting structure and texture and has the characteristic of making various changes possible. This technique has the advantage of easily manufacturing through manual work with metallic lines easy to be handled and enables various expressions of handicraft design revealing richer emotion and personality than products with standardized and uniform design.
We summarized the concept on the interlacing technique, examined the applicability of jewelry based on application cases, produced patterns to study the possibility of expressing with metals on the basis of the data on the interlacing technique and developed frame design to apply the patterns to jewelry design. Emphasizing the artistic side revealing voluminous sense and three-dimensional effects while enriching the expressive effects of forms and changes and reducing the weightiness, we were able to see the possibility of infinite expression as jewelry design.
By expressing the interlacing technique with metals and studying frame design development for the application of jewelry design, this study was to present the diversification of expression methods of jewelry design.

A Design-Centered Product Innovation Modeling through Capacity Conversion between SMEs and Design Specialized Companies

ABSTRACT
Future initiative design capacity based on specialized core technology is now becoming the focus of keen attention as the key source of enterprises to survive from the radically changing market and harsh competition. As for domestic medium and small enterprises, the design-driven innovation strategy to increase marketability, to enhance enterprise and product awareness level in the international and to cope with the change of future markets is required. However, it is very insufficient for design investment in order to discover future market opportunity and to develop strategic products in the reality of domestic medium and small enterprises as they have lack of systematic design development system unlike advanced global companies or large companies. Accordingly in this study, we examined the potential of cooperation and knowledge exchange between organizations with different perspectives and analytical abilities but identical sense of purpose to contribute to the design capacity of SMEs through an empirical study on the success cases of design-oriented product innovation through collaborations between SMEs and design specialized companies. As the comparative exhibition of the advanced competitive products studied herein as a case of design-centered product innovation could function as an opportunity to present the importance of design-centered advanced designs to SMEs by reducing the burden for the SMEs to invest human, physical, and design capital and anticipating the future products ahead of the demands from the market and customers.
